For some it is a place that lives in your mind and for others (like me) it is a real place that you can go to everyday...

My "Happy Place" is our HOME.  I can laugh, smile, have fun, and experience wonderful feelings of excitement....

A lot of times, I see things that make me happy in other places, so why not re-create these things for "MY HAPPY PLACE."

Here are a few things I want to add in our home for this Easter Season..

Wear It With Pride and Simple Happiness...

"Put on your Easter Bonnet.....With all the Frills upon it"................

Are you an "Easter Bonnet" kind of gal?

Hats covered with all kinds of lace, ribbons, flowers, bird nest, and Frills!
These are the things that an Easter Bonnet is made of.

********

Long before my time....women adorned the tops of their head with Easter Bonnets....

During the Spring season, there is new life all around us.  Flowers are blooming and tiny buds are bringing forth new hopes of the wonder of living.

Same holds true for EASTER...it symbolizes a new beginning!

I am sure that women waited with great anticipation for the moment to pack away the old winter hats and to start fresh and anew by decorating their sometimes worn straw hats with items that brought them sunshine and joy....

Spring/Easter .........Yes, it was a time to show off your new Easter clothing and to wear your Bonnet with PRIDE and simple happiness.

I can remember how my MOM would always "starch" petticoats for my sister and me.  We sometimes would sit them down on the floor and when our little hands would let go, the big pile of lace would stand there all by itself.  This brought us a lot of laughter.

We were so proud because our dresses were like big fluffy "Princess dresses"
and....
to make our outfits complete, we always had our little gloves and that "Big Ol' Easter Bonnet"

I loved those GOOD DAYS!

A Cupcake Kind of Day....

This past Friday was a CUPCAKE kind of day around here......

But hey.....everyday around Shug's place is a cupcake day!

I have the sweetest little "Cupcake" that spends about 8 hours a day, running around....stepping on my feet, announcing "Shug...I hungy" {NO..hungy isn't misspelled} and giving me kisses several times during any given day!

Excitement?....Before I could get all the ingredients gathered for baking the cupcakes, she had that little black stool pulled all the way up to kitchen bar,  and was ready to stir.

OK ~~~~  So Mylee got a little carried away with the mixing...

We had cupcake mixture everywhere!  On the counter, on the floor, on the mat, on her hands and even on her lips.....

Some pretty cute cupcakes!

Who doesn't love jelly beans and cupcakes?

Add a cup of hot green tea for us "Sweet" loving adults!

I do love a cup of hot green tea......And hey....it's good for you.

Do you remember as a child..... licking the spoons and licking the bowl when your mom finished mixing the the batter?

With 4 kids running around our house, the fight was on when it was time to help MOM
with the baking!

Well......Lucky for Mylee....she is the only one that
isn't in school and she is the only one that is home
with Shug all day!!!!

Susie, Vicki and Joyce

My very Dear Friends and classmates.
We ALL graduated in 1971 and I am almost positive that we must hold a record for having the most class reunions.  This will be our eighth class reunion.

We met last night in order to get out the invitations for our BIG 40 year event.  I was hosting the meeting, so I needed to come up with some kind of dessert......

This is what I chose.......

                          **Chocolate Eclair**

A simple, but oh so delicious dessert!

Ingredients......

Graham Crackers....

Pudding Mix and Milk......

Add cool whip.....

Start the layering process.....

End up with Graham Crackers on top.....

Top with Chocolate Icing.....
