Just this week, we have had the opportunity to celebrate two different birthdays for 2 of our grandsons.....

Carson......He is now a senior in High School...

Tucker......now in college and works part-time at a bank.

Carson turned 17 on Monday, August 6th and Tucker turned 20 today....August 12th.   What a wonderful Blessing these two guys are to Sam and I.

Ironically, both of these two grandsons are Type I diabetics.  When it comes to Birthday cakes.....we have to be very cautious about the sweet taste and the sugar.

I've wished them both Happy Birthdays......but what I really wish for is a Cure for Diabetes.   I've seen both of these young guys have good days and BAD days.  I've seen them have to alter plans and I've seen them have to decline certain things, due to their diabetes.

I pray for God's protection to be upon both of these guys.  I pray for them to make good, healthy decisions when it comes to taking care of their bodies.  I pray for a cure.....and I pray for them both to live long healthy lives.

I also pray for them to be a blessing to others...     Want you join me in wishing them both a Happy Birthday?

I love the rain and I love it even more when it rains on a hot summer day.   The past two days, we have had some rain.  It has left such a sweet fragrance in the air.    The temps have cooled down a bit and the plants seem to be shouting praise to the Lord.

I have kinda been "out of pocket" for about the past 10 days or so, and haven't even had a chance to step outside to water any of the plants in my yard.

Unfortunately,  I lost a couple of small plants...
One was a small butterfly plant that I just had not had a chance to plant in the ground yet.....the other was a hanging basket.  With the Texas heat, it doesn't take but a day or so for hanging baskets to dry out completely.   It doesn't take long for planted plants or trees to get to dry either.

There is nothing like the sound of a soft falling rain.

Today....I am thankful for answered prayers....
I am thankful for God's amazing grace.....
I'm thankful for the rain.....
and I'm thankful for each of you!

Yes....it's true!  The topic of my post today is not really important to anyone except for ME!  Oh... If my parents were living, they would have enjoyed seeing the pictures and reminiscing as well.

Just a picture of were I was Born!

This is my Birthday month.....August 24th to be exact.

This old place was once the Dr's office in the old town of Brownsboro, Texas.

My other siblings were born in hospitals, but I somehow only made it to the local Dr's office.

My mom has shared the story of this day with me many times....I was born in the afternoon and when it came time for the Dr's office to close for the day, the Dr. went home and left.....ME, my mom and dad to spend the night at the Dr's office!!  πŸ‘€

Mother told me that my dad had to make a bed on the floor to sleep that night.  A blanket, a pillow and him!  AND.....I cried most of the night.   My poor mom!

LOL.....should I RENT it...???????

These are new pictures.....the current owners have redone the old place and they now have it for rent.

I was raised in the same town where this old Dr's office is located.  I currently live about 10 miles from the place.....  I just think it's neat that the place is still standing.

It sure is fun reminiscing about the happenings of the past!!

Have a great day!

Good afternoon to my sweet, sweet friends.   Just a short update on my guest blogger last week.  Mylee has now started her own blog!!!

Yay....MJ!!  I think this will be great for her!  It might take a little time for her to get all of the spelling, and the punctuation down right.    But hey....I sometimes make a mess of these kinds of things, myself.

You can find her @ http://Babyshugsjournal.blogspot.com

Hope you will check her out.....

                                                 ~~~~~~~
Oldest daughter, Trista....has been doing a little modeling for one of her friends who owns a shop here in town....
Just a few photos.....   It's fun times for her and it helps her friend Amber, when customers can see her products and how they look on a model.
Not much happening around this Piney tree area of Texas.   It's just HOT and dry.  Hoping for much needed rain this next week.
Everyone take care......
