I have passed this little waterfall many
times, but today it really spoke to me! I
actually slowed way down in order to capture
this picture, almost coming to a complete
stop.
A sweet little waterfall, nestled among the
trees, just tumbling over the rocks, waiting
for me to drive by. The view was so serene,
and so peaceful looking. I rolled down
my window and could hear the gentle fall of
the water with it's soft rhythm, blending in
with the whispers of the breeze against the
trees. Just a quiet and steady sound of
Peace.
This morning was a simple reminder that
sometimes the best part of the journey isn't
about getting home quickly. It's about the
unexpected beauty we find along the way.
We just never know what small wonders might
be waiting for us. This has already been a
beautiful morning...
Shug....
I like that this has already been a beautiful morning for you.
ReplyDeleteThat's my kind of day too.
I haven't been any place yet but I have been watching a mourning dove sitting in the tree in our front yard. His/her coo is sad but peaceful at the same time. It definitely says Spring is on its way.

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think back roads are always best! This is a pretty little waterfall.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty place!
ReplyDeleteI love back road travel. You see so much more of our beautiful country that way :)
ReplyDeleteThis says it all - "sometimes the best part of the journey isn't
ReplyDeleteabout getting home quickly. It's about the unexpected beauty we find along the way."
I would love to take a back road and see a waterfall of any kind. glad you took the scenic route and found peace
ReplyDeleteNice waterfall! Most of my adventuring is on the internet and I explore the back roads there too.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely scene. I always take the back roads!
ReplyDeleteThe back roads are sometimes the best ones to travel on. There's so much beauty, and we often come across unexpected things along the way, like this little waterfall. I'm so glad you took that road home. This is such a pretty picture, and I can hear the water flowing from here. There's just something about water trickling; it's calming and soothing. Loved your peaceful post today, Shug. : )

I don't do it often but taking a back road is always enjoyable. What a pretty scene that is with the waterfall
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me! Part of the reason I left busy, impersonal Big City (Arizona) was to enjoy a slower pace in the South. Unfortunately, the slower part is difficult to remember. I'm need to start listening for waterfalls.
ReplyDeleteLoved "sometimes the best part of the journey isn't about getting home quickly. It's about the unexpected beauty we find along the way."
ReplyDeleteAren't those moments when God presents something to us that grabs our attention that at other times might pass us by just the best? My by-line for my blog is "Meeting the Miraculous in the Mundane." You just experienced that, Shug. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! This little waterfall is adorable and a small blessing.
ReplyDeleteWe love the backroads too :) I love that you took time to stop and capture the scene. Life should be more like this - us slowing down to capture the scenes, instead of hurrying to the next place. Thanks for sharing your moment with us :)
ReplyDeleteNature’s gift along the pathways of life are there to refresh our souls. God is always in the mix, giving us exactly what we need. Thank you for the beautiful reminder of the beauty in taking the backroads! I try to do it daily.
ReplyDeleteI love the unexpected surprises as we take the back roads! It is our very favorite thing to do, explore around us. Love your picture, and your thoughts!! Such a special gift, and it's true, sometimes, we just need to stop and enjoy the journey, and not be in such a big hurry! Many blessings to you!
