Beauty in Taking The Back Roads

Beauty in Taking the Back Roads

This morning, on my way home from
the chiropractor, I decided to take
a back road.  I wasn't in any kind of
rush and the slower, quieter drive
just felt right....something different!

I have passed this little waterfall many

times, but today it really spoke to me!  I

actually slowed way down in order to capture

this picture, almost coming to a complete

stop.

A sweet little waterfall, nestled among the

trees, just tumbling over the rocks, waiting

for me to drive by.  The view was so serene,

and so peaceful looking.  I rolled down

my window and could hear the gentle fall of

the water with it's soft rhythm, blending in

with the whispers of the breeze against the

trees.  Just a quiet and steady sound of

 Peace.

This morning was a simple reminder that

sometimes the best part of the journey isn't

about getting home quickly.  It's about the

unexpected beauty we find along the way.

We just never know what small wonders might

be waiting for us.   This has already been a

beautiful morning...

  1. I like that this has already been a beautiful morning for you.
That's my kind of day too.
I haven't been any place yet but I have been watching a mourning dove sitting in the tree in our front yard. His/her coo is sad but peaceful at the same time. It definitely says Spring is on its way.

  8. The back roads are sometimes the best ones to travel on. There's so much beauty, and we often come across unexpected things along the way, like this little waterfall. I'm so glad you took that road home. This is such a pretty picture, and I can hear the water flowing from here. There's just something about water trickling; it's calming and soothing. Loved your peaceful post today, Shug. : )

  10. Thank you for reminding me! Part of the reason I left busy, impersonal Big City (Arizona) was to enjoy a slower pace in the South. Unfortunately, the slower part is difficult to remember. I'm need to start listening for waterfalls.

  12. Aren't those moments when God presents something to us that grabs our attention that at other times might pass us by just the best? My by-line for my blog is "Meeting the Miraculous in the Mundane." You just experienced that, Shug. Blessings!

  14. We love the backroads too :) I love that you took time to stop and capture the scene. Life should be more like this - us slowing down to capture the scenes, instead of hurrying to the next place. Thanks for sharing your moment with us :)

Cables and Wires

My day was full of wires and cables... blue cables, yellow cables, white cables and black wires.  Oh, and one red cable!   I have to first...
