Isn't she lovely?  I gave a broken piece from my cactus to Trista in order for her to start one for herself.

Here is my OLD cactus!  I have had this thing for several years.  Just recently, three of the big sections fell off and I just kinda planted them at the base of the plant.

They had already begun to take root and I was so excited to be able to grow this cactus bigger.

However....I went out to look at it one morning and every one of the broken ones were missing!!!
What could have happened to them??

It is still a mystery!

They were too heavy for a bird or squirrel to haul off, and the puzzling thing is........ There was no sign of them being eaten on or nothing.  It is as if they just disappeared.

Look at these two cute babies.

Once again, I have been absent from blogging for a while.

I have been spending a lot of time working in my flowerbeds.  Trying to plant more things that come back each year.

One of the beds that is not finished yet!!  Hopefully in the next day or two, this will be a finished project.

These pots are just getting started and in a short time, they will be full.

This one has a spot out by the pool and I sure love the deep purple colors.

Got to have some Yellow ....... 💛💛💛💛💛

Gorgeous hanging basket full of purples.  I don't normally use purple, but this color is so pretty this year.

A little rose moss will be so pretty when the summer sun opens up all the blooms.

I always get so excited when Spring comes around and I sometimes overdo when potting and planting flowers.  It isn't so bad having to water all these beautiful plants and flowers..........UNTIL, the Texas heat comes beating  down.   I then always ask myself  " Why did you plant so much?"

I still have a lot to get done, but the hard work will be so rewarding.

Be amazing......Be Inspiring....and always find time to be a little Silly!!!!

Mexican Food.....  I love it all.

Churros, Fajita's, Carne Asada, Street Tacos, Pico, Taquitos, Salsa Verde, Enchiladas, Pollo Asada, Nachos, and the list goes on and on!

But not only do I like/love the food, I also like all of the beautiful banners, lights, Garland, etc, etc.

All of the decorations really set the mood for eating at a Mexican Restaurant...The ambiance along with the Ranchera style music makes for a great expression of the Mexican culture.

There really is a big difference in TEX-MEX and AUTHENTIC foods.  Yellow cheese is usually a must in Tex-Mex foods.  Especially here in Texas! We love our yellow cheese!

North of the Border is considered TEX-MEX, however, we do have places here in Texas that serve the REAL authentic Mexican food and sauces!

I honestly think I could eat this type of food at least 3 or 4 times a week... 😁

I think this is what we will have for dinner!!

God is Enough!  God is enough for each of us today, tomorrow, and every single day forever.

You want to feel refreshed today?  Take a break and feel God's abundant Grace...

Today is a perfect day to reach out and receive God's new Blessings.  His Blessings are new every morning.

God's grace is as fresh as the new day.....His unmerited favor is waiting for us!  Perhaps there is one who is experiencing a day of sorrow, a day of heaviness or a day of loneliness.  Reach out and speak God's name.  Share with HIM about HIS promises.  Wait on God, seek Him, for HE is prepared to fight your battle for you!

God's Mercy and Compassions fail not.

Enjoy this beautiful day.

I don't post many pictures of our baby girl, Emma Kate.

My goodness, she is growing so fast and I miss both of our great-grandchildren so very much!!

I can only imagine the conversation she is having with "Archie" in this picture.  After all....she (Emma) is the boss of the house and possibly the neighborhood.

I love ♥ this picture of the two of them!

"Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while."
Kim Hubbard

I love this little quote.....especially living here in TEXAS!

Y'all.......Here is what our weather looks like for the next week....

Tanning weather on Monday with a high near 80.   Wednesday....possibility of ice and snow!

No packing away of Winter or Summer clothes for sure!

Hey....I sure hope y'all have a great weekend....

"Hold fast to dreams, For if dreams die, Life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly."     Langston Hughes

I'm not sure that I ever grew up with particular dreams.  Certainly not any dreams like Dolly Parton had in her movie,  "Coat of many colors."  She had big dreams, and her dreams were made BIG because she believed in herself.

I also think of big dreams when I hear the song...."With a Broken Wing" sung by Martina McBride.  I hear it as a woman who had big dreams, however, she felt trapped in her life situation and was struggling to fulfill those dreams.  This song does leave one wondering if through her brokenness, she died by jumping through the window, or if the open window with the curtains blowing in the breeze, were enough for her to escape to find freedom that would lead her to her dreams.

Dreams are things we hope for, or things that we want to become.  Dreams have a way of stretching our imagination and by doing so, we are able to find amazing joy just by looking through a visionary lens in hopes of living those dreams.

Dreams make life worth living even if you have to wait years upon years to finally get that dream.  Same as having a bucket list......a list of things that you want so bad to accomplish.

For some people, dreams do die, and it does bring pain.  Can you imagine the pain that comes when a bird has a broken wing and it can no longer fly?  Without help, the bird will most likely die.  This is the very reason that we must always be alert to those around us.  When a dream dies....let us be first to lift them up and heal any brokenness that they may have.

"He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength.  Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."   Isaiah 40:29-31

 I know.....this is a lot of Snow!!

I know I have said this before, but truth is truth.  In TEXAS, the weather has a mind of its own.  As one friend put it.....

"That's how we know Texas is a woman.....she can't make up her mind.  The last few years I'm convinced she's having a mid-life crisis."

I honestly had on shorts yesterday and the temps were closing in on 80.  Today, it is chilly and we had a lot of snow!  Did it accumulate?  No!  Because our temps are above freezing.

Quick update on Trey:   He is now walking on crutches.  He is allowed to put 30% weight on left leg (still) and has already had 2 days of out patient therapy.  Got to get his core built up so he can protect the back.  Prayers are still needed and I thank you in advance.

I'll leave you today with this:

"Sometimes, I wish I was the weather, you'd bring me up in conversation forever. And, when it rained, I'd be the talk of the day."

John Mayer.

Blessings this Day!

Is it Winter yet?   Last year at this time, we had SNOW and then came the big FREEZE!!  I am definitely complaining and I do hope we never have a freeze like that again.......BUT, being that it is Winter, I would kinda like to have a few snowflakes falling.

The snow last year was really nice and so fun to not only look at, but to do a little playing outside.

With TEXAS weather, you never know what you're gonna get when it comes to the weather.  Today, the sun is shining and the temps are suppose to reach into the 70's.

Around here, you can be ready for the pool one day and the very next day, you will find yourself pulling out the mittens, coats, and toboggan's.

Shout out to my dear friend Marsha.... she brought over a super delicious cake this past week.  Nothing better than the taste of pears, cream cheese, cinnamon, and a praline topping!!! 💓💓

Apple or Pear - Cream Cheese

                                  Bundt Cake

The sound I am hearing right now is enough to drive a person crazy........BUT, I am so glad to have progress being made on my Kitchen.   The noise I am hearing is a constant sawing sound.  The electrician is having to cut out pieces of my Bead Board wall in order to add more wiring for the New Double ovens and gas range.  I will be so happy when this is a finished project.

Of course...there is a delay in getting the ovens, so who knows....it may be March before the kitchen is finished.

What else?  Hmmmm..... I desperately need to go in there and do a deep clean in my closet.  Argh!!  Seems like I need to do this on a regular basis.  How do 2 people get things so out of order??    May just do a Closet purge while I'm at it...

Trey sees the Plastic surgeon this afternoon to find out if grafts are needed for his leg.  Keeping our fingers crossed that he doesn't have to have this procedure done.  Friday is a MRI and next week, the Back Doctor will let us know if surgery is going to be required on his back.   Continued prayers please.

I'll leave you with this:

"Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful."

                                               Annette Funicello

Enjoy a Beautiful day.

 Happy Sunday....

Here in Texas, we are finally having some Cool weather.  All of this past week, we were reaching record highs in the upper 80's.......this morning, our temps started out in the upper 20's!   Winter closet, Summer closet.....they're all the same.

On any given day, we may have to go from having on sweat pants and a heavy coat, to changing in to shorts and flip flops!  CRAZY!

The New Year always brings motivation for me.  Motivation to get my house organized, to get rid of things that have no place, to get started on my end of the year bookkeeping, and to set new goals for the year ahead.  The calendar shows Jan. 2, but I have already found myself digging into some of these things.

I've already made a trip to "Hangers of Hope" to drop off items that I personally have no use for.  Like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

All of my Christmas decor has been put away for another year, and my house is pretty organized.  Well....other than the kitchen!!  I'm having a few things done in the kitchen (some new cabinets built, a new gas range, and some double ovens put in).......right now, the cabinets have been emptied and the dishes are being stored in containers out in the garage.  Hoping to be finished with this project within a month...keeping my fingers crossed.

My goals are to try to compliment others each day,  be more involved with bible studies, and to be conscientious in my own daily living.

Each day is rich with many gifts, I hope that I can relax more and soak up all these good gifts that come from our Father in Heaven.

Hope you all have a GREAT week, filled with positive thoughts.
