Truth of The Pillow

Can't believe that this one pillow is spilling the beans!
The Truth has come out.......Not just our grandchildren, but All
Children are spoiled here at Shug and Pop's house....
This picture was taken at the Grandparent's day that I attended
for Trey....

******
An extra thought from Shug today:

One thing that I would love to see every child have this year for Christmas is A PEACEFUL HOME......
A place where they can feel warmth, a place where they can feel safety, and a place where they know without a shadow of a doubt, that they are loved!!

Children need HOMES, not just a four wall house.  Our HOMES
should reflect LOVE!  Love for one another, love for family and friends, and most importantly, LOVE FOR GOD!

It takes a conscious effort and a committed heart to leave the pressure's of the outside world.....OUTSIDE!  Just as we get up every morning and prepare ourselves for the day, we too should prepare our children to step across the threshold into a place of PEACE when they arrive home from school.....

Take time to enjoy the beautiful smiles of your children.  Ask them about their day, and always....ALWAYS be encouraging in your remarks...

It is OUR choice....we can offer a home that is full of love and full of peace.....

Shug Sez.....

Give your children this important gift today.....Give them a place of refuge from the world.  Give them your love and teach them about the love of God!

Catch the Fever.....

Girlfriends.... and some of you guys too...
Who wants to catch the fever?  What fever am I talking about?    Dance Fever!

Dance like Crazy...that is what I'm getting ready to do!
Funny isn't it?  I've never been a dancer before, but in just a few weeks, "Dancing With The Stars" just might be giving me a call.....

I'm getting ready to Zumba.......
Believe Me...I am excited about this...I have ordered my tapes and they should be arriving within the next week..
And when they do get here...I'll be rocking!!

NO...The Zumba tapes are not for teaching me how to rock in a Rocking Chair!

The word Zumba is derived from a  Colombian word meaning to move fast and have fun!  Well, I have fun most all of the time, so I'm pretty confident that I will be able to do that part with ease...
It's the other part that places a small question in my mind....You know, the MOVE FAST part...

I went ahead and stocked up on some of that muscle soothing ointment just in case I get a little sore...Believe me, I am sure that Zumba Dancing will definitely activate just a few of those sleeping muscles that I have somewhere Hidden in my arms, legs, abdomen, and thighs!!

Oh Yeah...The Zumba Fever is heating up and I plan on being at the party.....

Shug Sez....

Cha, Cha, Cha.....here I come!!

Resize Your Thinking Cap.....

What are you thinking about today?  Is your mind filled with upcoming events or is your mind be filled with thoughts regarding your Christmas list?

There are certain times during the year when my "Thinking Cap" fits a little too snug...
Thoughts keep cycling over and over in my mind....

It's almost as if (I'm)stuck inside my head all day long and my feet are doing all they can do to kick me back to where I need to be...

I was thinking about this yesterday, and I came to the conclusion that a lot of my thoughts are somewhat seemingly unimportant things....

There is no need for me too allow clutter of the mind to disturb me from my well needed beauty sleep.  So....for today,
I am going to let God's peace infuse every part of my being...

As the chaos swirls all around me, and life's demands pull at me on all sides, I am going to take the time to breath in God's Peace that surpasses all understanding.

He has promised that He would set within me a peace too deeply planted to be affected by unexpected or exhausting demands..

What a promise!! So what if I am the last house on the block to put up my Christmas lights, so what if I miss a function or two.
There are plenty of things going on in my life that brings me instant gratification, so why try to keep stacking more into an already filled space.

I love it when God speaks to me and tells me it is time to rest....This is exactly what I'm going to do...REST...and enjoy one thing at a time....

Shug Sez....

Sometimes we all need to slow down and resize our thinking caps!

The Cake......

This Post is dedicated to the Memory of My Mother...Patsy Jo (Mofffeit) Kidd....

The Best Mother in the world....The Best friend a daughter could ever have, and the Best Cook of all times!

"The Cake".... A Beautiful German Chocolate Cake!   One thing that we could always count on for the Holidays, was this cake....
A warm, fresh baked, from scratch, German Chocolate Cake....
No Thanksgiving, No Christmas, No Easter would be complete without this delicious, mouth watering cake sitting on the dessert table.

I have seen a many a time when a piece of this cake was the first bite taken at any of the meals......It was a "Just Can't Wait" dessert that took precedence over any other item on the menu....

When our mom passed away (In August 2005), our hearts were broken, our loss was great, but yet we knew she was no longer in pain....She left us with an endless amount of love and memories that will never fade away.....This particular cake is just one teeny tiny thing that will never be forgotten....

So now....It is left up to us girls to carry on the family tradition of the "German Chocolate Cake."

For me....this is the most difficult step of making the cake....

Ready to Bake....

And Here it is my friends....."The Cake"

This recipe is located on the back of the "Green... box of
German Chocolate" that you can purchase on the baking isle of most any of the grocery stores....
It's not hard, just a little time consuming....(lots of steps)

I can't wait for Christmas....I can assure you that this old favorite will be sitting right there on the dessert table, just as it has always been...I'll be waiting to hear someone say "This cake is great, but not quite as good as Mom's!"

Shug Sez......

Family Traditions are wonderful.....Never allow them to fade away..   Thank you mom for making them special for us to enjoy today!  You are Forever in my Heart!!

Sunday Thoughts.

Good Sunday Morning.... Look how cute my newest little gnomes are.  They are kinda small, but they fit perfectly at the end of the TV cons...
