The Cake......

This Post is dedicated to the Memory of My Mother...Patsy Jo (Mofffeit) Kidd....

The Best Mother in the world....The Best friend a daughter could ever have, and the Best Cook of all times!

"The Cake".... A Beautiful German Chocolate Cake!   One thing that we could always count on for the Holidays, was this cake....
A warm, fresh baked, from scratch, German Chocolate Cake....
No Thanksgiving, No Christmas, No Easter would be complete without this delicious, mouth watering cake sitting on the dessert table.

I have seen a many a time when a piece of this cake was the first bite taken at any of the meals......It was a "Just Can't Wait" dessert that took precedence over any other item on the menu....

When our mom passed away (In August 2005), our hearts were broken, our loss was great, but yet we knew she was no longer in pain....She left us with an endless amount of love and memories that will never fade away.....This particular cake is just one teeny tiny thing that will never be forgotten....

So now....It is left up to us girls to carry on the family tradition of the "German Chocolate Cake."

For me....this is the most difficult step of making the cake....

Ready to Bake....

And Here it is my friends....."The Cake"

This recipe is located on the back of the "Green... box of
German Chocolate" that you can purchase on the baking isle of most any of the grocery stores....
It's not hard, just a little time consuming....(lots of steps)

I can't wait for Christmas....I can assure you that this old favorite will be sitting right there on the dessert table, just as it has always been...I'll be waiting to hear someone say "This cake is great, but not quite as good as Mom's!"

Shug Sez......

Family Traditions are wonderful.....Never allow them to fade away..   Thank you mom for making them special for us to enjoy today!  You are Forever in my Heart!!

  4. Love German Chocolate cake!
My Mom used to make me a Christmas tree cake each year. It had bright green frosting and M&M's for decorations!
Great memories for both of us.
