Where are we now as America?

As I sit here this morning trying to decide what to write, my heart feels so heavy. The memories of 9/11 and the grief carried by families of those who loss loved ones that sad day in America...The grief and pain still lingers to this day.  Where are we now as America??

And to add to the heaviness in my heart, is the death of Charlie Kirk. A young man who was a  positive influence to our youth and to everyone who listened to him.  I listened to his podcast regularly and was so very impressed on how he refused to stop speaking the truth. He was a man full of HOPE and some of his last words were testifying that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.

"All death can do to the believer is deliver him to Jesus."  Charlie Kirk

God Bless his wife and his children!

God Bless America!!!

Good morning Shug. We just found out this morning about Charlie Kirk - so I’m still in shock. I’m sad and I’m mad. I really have no words but I agree with all you said. Also as we think of 9-11 let’s not forget the attack on the US embassy in Benghazi on Sept 11, 2012 with 6 brutally killed. May their memory be a blessing.

Anger ... disbelieve ... grief ... and yes, unrequited fear. May God have mercy upon us.

My heart isn't just breaking, it's shattered, Shug. What has happened to our nation that such a bright light for the youth in our country is snuffed out by a madman? May we continue to pray for Charlie's family that are left behind. God bless them!

Horrific. My heart is so heavy. Charlie was such a good young Christian man. I have heaviness in my heart. I do not understand. I do feel shattered today. Bless his family. Bless the men and women who died in 9-11 and their families.

You have said this so well. My heart is heavy and my mind just can't wrap around that pervasive evil that seems to be rearing its ugly head around us.
Praying for all that were touched by these horrific events.

I have just seen the photos of him that were captured. It gives a good look at him, so hopefully he will be identified soon. His poor family!!

Such a tragic loss and seeing people cheer about it is so hard to take. But, we know that God is still on the throne!

Well written and so true. I'm devastated. I listened to Charlie regularly as well. We know he's in heaven but we're devastated for his family and sad for us that as long we're this side of heaven, we won't get to see or hear Charlie.

I was reflecting on this day as well, Shug. I drove up the mountain this morning, and there was much fog, and it was such a mysterious feeling.

Very sad and so senseless! I never listened to him but I understand he encouraged conversation and debate between those with different opinions. He was a positive influence on our youth at Universities too. So so sad.
