We settled into a quiet, restful weekend......just what the doctor (and our souls) ordered. I'm happy to report that Sam had a good weekend. He's still very tired, but we will take tired over nausea or fever any day of the week. Sometimes slow and steady really is the best kind of healing.
This verse felt especially true this weekend. We were not rushing around trying to solve the world's problems. We were just resting and finding peace right there in the nice slow moments of life.
And now, for a little burst of cheer! Look at this adorable "Trader Joe's bag!" My granddaughter Tori brought it to me this weekend, and I was so excited. Apparently, these little bags are Hot Commodities ...people are reselling them on eBay for way more than the $4.oo she paid. I'm not sure why, but hey, people collect all kinds of things!
It's not just cute.....it is useful, too. I'm already thinking of ways to put it to good use. Snacks, books, make-up or just a good ol' errand bag.
Thanks, Tori, for the fun surprise!! You certainly know how to brighten your Shug's day. 💛💛
Wishing everyone a smooth start to the week. Here we go Monday...armed with a whole lot of gratitude, and most likely a few more cups of coffee. May we all tackle this week with grace and a lot of humor.
"It's a good day to have a good day....especially if there's a cute bag involved."
Shug....
Good morning Shug. Glad to hear you had a good, restful weekend as well as Sam’s tolerance so far on the treatments. I’m sure prayer had something to do with that.
ReplyDeleteThat’s crazy about the Trader Joe bags - I didn’t know it was a fad to carry around a Trader Joe bag other than groceries. I’ve haven’t seen that around here yet. I’ve been shopping there since the mid 1990’s so I have had many bags throughout the years. Maybe I should check out what my bags could go for. Back in the 90’s, I do remember Whole Foods bags were collectible. Oh and IKEA bags. I still have three of the huge canvas IKEA bags. They wash up nicely.
Enjoyable post and I’m always glad to hear from you! Blessings and hugs!
Wow, how on earth did Tori manage to find this tote!!! I like the color. And I also love your lavender blog today. I'm so glad that Sam is doing well, I continue to pray for him!!
ReplyDeleteGood news about Sam. Yes, tired is better than a lot of things! I hope he continues to go well.
ReplyDeleteThose bags are so handy for so many things. I just bought two bags at the grocery store to put things in when I saw the girls. You will get a lot of use out of yours. So nice of your granddaughter to get this bag for you. I'm wondering why the mini totes are selling for so much on-line! I can't imagine paying $500 for one! The quietness verse is very special, Shug, and I will be reminded of that all week. I'm glad Sam is doing Ok after his treatment, and so wise of you all to rest up over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid May week, Shug.

Lovely totes! Your blog header image and this Scripture verse are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love that aqua/blue tote. My favorite color. So sweet of her and you can use it for anything. Love your verse in Isaiah today.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good weekend and some time to rest and rejuvenate! My Grandpa had a plaque with that verse on it and when my Dad died Bob got it because he's always liked that verse. He has it hanging in his shop.
ReplyDeleteThe tote is so cute and the thought behind it is even better!
My tote bag's not from Trader Joe's, but love how they're so versatile. That's sure a thoughtful gesture from your most thoughtful gr-girl! As my former MIL used to say, "Wear it in good health."
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a Trader Joe's around here, so I'm clueless. But the little bag is cute and I can imagine it is full of potential! Glad you had a restful and peaceful weekend. May God be with you both as you travel this new phase of your life's journey. Praying for more peaceful and pleasant days ahead, and may God give you grace for the ones that aren't so great. (((hugs))) and prayers.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a peaceful weekend. They're the best. ❤️
ReplyDeletethecontemplativecat here. we are having a huge family reunion. I have three book totes that look like library cards, with their names and library on them.
ReplyDeleteYou needed a quiet weekend! Hope the rest of the week goes well so you can enjoy the wedding!
ReplyDeleteLovely colourful bags. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeletePraying for Sam and you all. God bless always.
Rest and sleep are essential for recovery. I'm glad you had a peaceful weekend.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that Sam is feeling better. You are so right, tired is better than nausea. What a sweet gift from Tori. Bags like that are very useful. I wish we had a Trader Joe's near me.
