Vacation time is the BEST!!

Wouldn't it be great if we were all able to take a good vacation at least 10 days or so, ever other month?  When I win the big "lottery" I might just consider doing so.  Of course, you have to play the lottery to win it!

Sam and I just spent 10 days in Colorado, vacationing with friends.   Actually it was Sam and four of us ladies!
You know what though?  He had the best time.  He was our driver, our luggage carrier, our gas attendant, and best of all....we had curb side service at all of our destinations.......and he went and parked the car!!

We rode the train from Durango to Silverton and back.
Oh my....the most beautiful country side and the river was  absolutely gorgeous!

I took this picture of Sam at "Bear Lake."
If you have never visited Bear Lake, you need to add this to your bucket list and go visit this place.  Such peace surrounds this lake.  We all walked around the lake and just took our time.....sitting and loving all of the beauty around us.

We stayed the first four nights in Estes Park, at the "Stanley Hotel."  I'm sure you all know about the Stanley?
The hotel where Steven King wrote "The Shining."
This is a Haunted Hotel......

I had to hire me a ghost Buster to walk around with me!!
Just kidding.   isn't she cute?  This lady is part of the ghost tours that they have each day.  Actually, I should say.....The MANY ghost tours that they have each day.

I was a little nervous staying here.....but wouldn't you know it, that we saw NO ghost, No Orbs, No Shadows, and none of the furniture moved around!!  lol.

Here we are....eating at the Stanley.  Minus our friend, Vicki.  She was taking the picture.

We had a full schedule.....Flew to Denver....Drove to Estes Park.....Stayed 4 nights.........took day tours through the mountains and National Park.....Drove to Breckenridge....had lunch.....Drove to Durango.....Stayed 4 nights......Rode the train....Drove over the Mesa Verde and hiked down to the ladder house......Drove the Million Dollar Highway......Went to Ouray.....Drove to Pueblo, stayed the night.....went to the Royal Gorge....Drove to Denver...stayed the night and flew home!

We saw lots of Elk, a Bear, Turkey's, Big horn sheep, rabbits, ground hogs, chipmunks, lots of mountains, many rivers and the most beautiful trees.

We skipped out on some of this Texas heat.  The mornings in Colorado were in the low 40's and the days were in the 70's.    SO NICE!

When we stepped out of the airport in TEXAS, the heat was triple digits.  🔥🔥🔥

Thank you Lord for this nice vacation with my husband and friends....

Hugs to each of you!!
Shug

  1. I LOVE your header picture. That is so cute! What a wonderful vacation. I would be happy with just one vacation...to anywhere. We haven't taken a vacation trip in 32 years. The picture of the train rounding the side of the mountain kinda gave me chills. :) It so pretty though. You have a nice husband to take care of you ladies the way he did. Henny

  2. Hi Shug~ What a fun vacation! I haven't been to Colorado for years, maybe it's time for a trip! Your photos were so beautiful, especially the train...I love trains! But, it was also fun to see that you are healthy and happy and enjoying life...it's been a minute! So glad you got a reprieve from the heat! Hugs, Barb
