This Aging Thing.....

Hi  y'all........
I'm telling you....this aging thing is wearing me out!!

I said....This aging thing is wearing me out!!

If you'll notice, I posted a picture of a face cream at the top.  The market today is flooded with face creams, cleansers, serums, and all other kinds of goodies, that are suppose to be the BEST at making one look younger.

Bah Ha.......

Some of these beauty items are not cheap..
I have seen them range from just a few dollars, up to hundreds of bucks.

I must be missing the fine print that says it takes years to be able to tell the difference.
I can testify that it doesn't happen overnight, over weeks,  or over months!!

Another thing is weight products.....Do any of them really work???  Why can't they just come up with something similar to Prune juice to help us older folks lose weight?
Yep...that's right....if you're constipated, just drink the Prune juice and pretty soon, all runs smooth in that department...
Surely with all the knowledge in the world today, they (whoever they are) could come
up with some kind of FAT JUICE...
Drink it and you suddenly melt to the size you want to be!!  Wow...this would be great!

I'm beginning to think that it's a simple fact...
You're either gonna be Fat or you're gonna be skinny!!
The mirror decides!!

I guess it's not enough for us older women to have to deal with aging skin and weight problems, so why not go ahead and throw in the "Hot Flashes."
Mine are really not "hot flashes".....I'm just
HOT  natured!  In other words, I'm HOT all the time... (as in my body temp is always hot)

Maybe it's because I have to many layers and the heat is getting trapped!!

I guess you can tell it's been one of those kind of days....It feels like Summer outside....my skin feels dry and
I must have eaten way too much over the weekend!!

Oh Well...I'll just have to try again next Monday!! ha!

Building our Nest

Found this cute little bird nest, hiding in our pyracantha bush!!

Wasn't it the "Three Little Pigs"
that built their houses out of
STRAW, STICKS, and BRICKS??

This birdie built her little nest out of Sticks, leaves and Plastic!

Building a strong home requires good building materials as well... The real key, is the mortar!  And, the mortar that I'm speaking of are things like...

 a GOD centered home....and
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and self control!

Blessings today....

Pink M & M's

This morning, I went to watch Miss Mylee Jo, play her very first EVER baseball game....

Oh my goodness....Oh my goodness...
What fun this was!

I remember watching our oldest grandson play his first game....seems like yesterday, but in reality, it was about eleven years ago...

and we have watched all the other four grans, play their very first game.

These games seem to last

F-o-r-e-v-e-r.....

but they sure do bring grandparents
a whole lot of joy!

*******

While at the game, it suddenly came to me....
this is a perfect "Pink Saturday" post!!

Have a fantastic day...

The Good Life

This is what I call the good life......

Sam took a couple of the grandsons fishing, down at the farm....this past weekend....

They claim to have caught some fish, but....I never saw any of them!    Hmmmm!

Looks like Carson did quite a bit of relaxing!  Soaking up the sun and drinking soda's!
I wouldn't mind soaking up a few ray's myself!

This was the afternoon that Tucker started feeling bad....they called me to come pick him up, and in this picture, he was getting ready to jump from the boat, onto the bank.

He did have to go to the ER clinic that night, and sure enough....he was sick...
A bad case of Strep!  Fever and all!

I took a few pictures while waiting for him to get off of the boat....I was trying to get a picture of the tiny little fish, swimming close to the bank...

You can bet...I was sure watching my step!
For one thing....I didn't want to fall in, and second of all....I didn't want any kind of reptile to sneak up on me...

I just love going to the farm and spending time at lake.  The perfect place to relax and enjoy a little "Family time."

Enjoy your weekend!!

So....I made this HUGE mistake the other morning...and now, I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna ever get out of it.....

It was early in the morning, and I was heading to utility to grab one of Sam's new short sleeve work shirts, for him to wear that day...

I have no idea what it was that I had on my mind that morning, but as I turned around and headed towards him, I said:  "Here is your shirt, DOUGHBOY."  Yep, I sure did!!!!!

There was complete silence for about 10 seconds....and then I realized what I had said....

Sam was like...."What did you call me?"

I quickly came back with:  "I said ...U da Boy."

Oh my....I just ran, buried my head in his chest and started giggling...I knew he had heard me right, the first time!!

Believe me....he hasn't let me live it down....

He has assured me that my time is coming.....Oh dear!

I sure do love my Doughboy!!!!!

Early Morning Shopping..

Have you....ever tried to make a quick morning trip to the grocery store, in hopes that you won't run into ANYONE you know....???

This is the kind of trip that I never like to make...
But....it happens!  We sometimes have to make a trip to the store, before having time to put our face on....

My plans are always, to run in, grab the milk or bread or whatever else it is, that I so desperately need, and get out of there as fast as I can...  Ooops, almost forgot....Pay for it and then get out of there...

This happened to me yesterday morning, with only a few hurdles in my way.....

My day started out something like this....
Woke up....jumped out of bed....had some super nappy hair, because I did not take the necessary time to shampoo it the night before....

Tucker was already at my house....he has strep throat and he needed to stay home with me....
Trista called....Tori was not feeling well either.
This means that I now have two sick grandkids at our house...plus Mylee Jo!

Guess what?  No milk...no bread....NOTHING in this house for a breakfast meal!  (I know...hard to believe that I didn't have something.)  I certainly did not have anything that the kids wanted to eat.

I headed out to the store....made my way in....and was heading down the milk isle...
I noticed this guy that passed me, and in just a few minutes, he passed me again...(On the same isle)
I just kept shopping, and then I look up and there he is again...pretending to be looking at something!  At this point, I'm thinking....This guy looks familiar...I recognized him as someone that I should know....I immediately turned and tried to head in the other direction.

Suddenly, I hear this voice calling my name...

My first thoughts are "oh crud"....I don't know who this person is.  I DON'T KNOW his NAME!!! ....and my second thought was
OMGoodness...I don't have on any make-up, my hair is a terrible mess, and I am dressed in the most horrific outfit ever....
Oh Lord...what am I going to do???

Well...I stood there, in all my humiliation and carried on a conversation with someone that I haven't seen in over 30 years.  I was as nervous as a cat, surrounded by 2 pit bulls.  Had I not looked like a trash mama, I would have admitted to the truth, that I couldn't remember his name.

Who was it????

I STILL DO NOT KNOW!!

I think I need to give myself a new morning wake up time!
Up at 5:00 ......hair done, make-up on and ready for whatever the day brings...
and perhaps I need to put out the YEAR BOOKS and do some studying....

I'll chalk it all up, to not being prepared.....and to this thing they call AGING!!

Hugs y'all...

Silence is Broken

TEXAS  FLIP FLOPS

This picture has nothing to do with my post today....
Thought I'd share it, cause it is cute!!

Awkwardness......

Isn't it awkward to sit in a waiting room, filled with people and NO ONE saying anything?  Not one single word!

All kinds of people, with all kinds of backgrounds.  I can't stand the silence!!

Over to the left of me is a rather large man...perhaps 400 pounds or more.  He has a steady chew on a large drinking straw.....
His eyes keep moving from person to person, checking out each individual, as if he is daring anyone to move....

To the right of me is a Hispanic woman that seems to be struggling to stay awake.  Her head nods frontwards and then it lifts, only to fall backwards, almost hitting a window ledge.

No words are being spoken...the only sound that you can hear, is the turning of the pages from the old, outdated magazines....
OH YES.......and the repeated noise of teeth chomping the straw to smithereens.

My mouth is just itching to expel a word...any kind of word!  Finally, I just take it anymore...
I MUST SPEAK....

Oh yes.....just what everyone had been waiting for...Someone to break the silence and speak.

Isn't it amazing how one word can seriously change the entire mood in a quite waiting room?

If you want people to talk....just ask them, "How are you feeling."  Oh my...when it comes to aches and pains....you will find that the conversations never stop......

People were still talking, even as they were called back to see the doctor...

Finally....the silence is broken...

Shug..

The bug is out the door..

Hello Dear Friends!! News from my part of the world.  I finally feel good!! Who knew that a little stomach bug could plant a person on the...
