Welcome October and a Hodgepodge

Welcome October... and the Wednesday Hodgepodge:

Welcome October! 🍂
You arrive with a gentle whisper of cooler air, golden leaves, and the promise of change......

Hello Friends.....today is Wednesday and you guessed it....this means it is time for the Hodgepodge!!

Joyce asks the questions.

We answer the questions. 🍁

1.  What's your favorite fall scent? Would we find this in or around your home right now?

My favorite fall scent is Cinnamon Stick...
and this particular scent is flowing through our home right now!!  I actually have a bag full of plug in's and they are delivering their scent throughout the house!!

2. October is Country Music Month....are you a fan of Country Music? Do you have a favorite country artist? Every been to Nashville? In terms of lifestyle are you more country mouse or city mouse?

I am a huge fan of Country Music...however, I am very selective on the songs that I listen to...  I am really turned off by the songs that are all about whiskey and drinking...(I know, you find this in SOOOO Many of the Country songs) I prefer Christian Country Music!

Cody Johnson is my favorite right now!!  I would love to see him in concert.  I do like the older artist as well.

I have been to Nashville...I've even been to the Grand Ole' Opry!  Love Nashville.

I am most definitely a Country Mouse! Visiting the busy Cities can be nice, but my heart lives in the Country!

3.  How about 'Country cooking'? (loosely defined as rich flavors, familiar foods, large portions, often fried, and often associated with the Southern region of the US of A)?

chicken and dumplings-fried chicken-shrimp and grits-biscuits and gravy-mac and cheese-fried green tomatoes-cornbread-collard or turnip greens-deviled eggs-'barbecue'-gumbo-banana pudding

Which of these foods listed is your favorite? Any on the list you haven't tried or would say a firm no thank you to if offered?

Goodness...my favorite is ALL OF THIS LIST!
Southern indeed.... we rarely eat Fried foods!
Although, I have had my fair share of fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, and chicken fried steak.

I would not turn down any of these dishes if placed in front of me!!  But I would add a tall glass of iced sweet tea.

4.  What's something that always has a positive impact on your mood?

No doubt, antiquing is one thing that always refreshes my soul.  Another positive impact for me is decorating!!  I love to decorate our home, our yard, or any place I can find that I can add a tad of color or a simple change....

5.  As we say so long to September, share a noun, a verb, and adjective that tells us something about how that month looked for you.

Whirlwind.....

September was a whirlwind...It was jam-packed, lively, noisy, cheerful, dizzying, surprising, delightful, wobbly and downright unforgettable.
Between weddings, showers, birthday parties, and even a few sniffles tossed in for good measure, it felt like the month was running on double speed. If months could talk, September would have shouted.....
"Buckle up...here we go!" 🎉

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Today , October 1st, would have been my parents 77th wedding Anniversary.

I am so very thankful for the strong love that they shared.

Even beyond this life,
their love whispers softly,
a story that time cannot silence,
A bond that will never fade.

Wishing you all a very blessed day.

Shug...

  3. I enjoyed that. I love the country too and country food. Cinnamon is my favorite too. Whirlwind is a great word for September, but I LOVE October. Happy anniversary to your parents.
