Not Delayed, Just Redirected.

The older I get, the more I understand that not everything is meant to happen when I want it to. Life has a gentle (and sometimes not-so-gentle) way of teaching patience....and purpose.

I've come to realize that some delays are not roadblocks....they are divine pauses. They're moments where God whispers, "Not yet, my child...I'm still preparing the way." I will be first to admit that when a delay happens or a roadblock pops up, I have a tendency to become frustrated.  I suppose this is just human nature.

It is... so easy to get frustrated when plans don't unfold the way we hoped. We pray, we plan, we push forward, and then suddenly, everything seems to slow down or stop. But, maybe, just maybe, that delay is protecting us from something we can't yet see.  Or perhaps it's giving us time to grow into the person who will be ready for what ever is coming next.

And those detours?  Oh, how they test us, don't they?  We think we are heading one way, and suddenly life reroutes us in an entirely different direction.  Many times, I have looked back to see that those detours were not mistakes.  They were directions!  They guided me to new blessings, unexpected friendships and a much deeper faith.

There is a quiet peace that comes when we stop fighting the timing of things and start trusting the process.  We begin to understand that every closed door, every delay, and every reroute has meaning woven into it.  It's not that we are off track, we are simply being divinely redirected.  I want to always remember that sometimes God's "not yet" simply means, "I have something more beautiful in mind."

🌻 Keep smiling through the detours, friends!  Sometimes the scenic route is where the sweetest moments bloom.

Love,

Shug 💛

  6. Yes you are so right - God is sovereign and in complete control and that is comforting. It’s really simple. Trust and Obey and God will do the rest. Meanwhile enjoy your life, love on your loved ones and practice patience. 🙏🏻

  8. A timely post. I am at home today sipping hot chocolate. It is raining and the Netflix fireplace is "warming" my living room. 🩵 I had plans to attend my ladies Bible study, but here I am praying and studying at home instead. Hmmm.
