Two Steps Back

I have been trying to catch up on reading your newest posts and leaving my comments, but it seems like each time I take a step forward, life has a way of pulling me two steps back.

The night before last, we received a call from the nursing home.  They had to send Sam's dad by ambulance to the hospital. Sam spent the entire night in the ER, and by the next day, his dad was finally admitted, and was able to get into a room. The doctors discovered that his bile duct is blocked, his gallbladder is infected and he is also dealing with colitis.

At 96 years old, surgery isn't a safe option, so this morning they are planning a procedure called an ERCP. He will have to be put under anesthesia, which carries risks at his age, but the doctors believe this is the best path forward.

I'll be at the hospital most of the day with Sam waiting for good results from this procedure his dad will be having.  I will eventually catch up on my visits to each of you.  In the meantime, know that I continue to lift you and your family's prayer needs up in prayer.  Many of you are facing health issues of your loved ones as well..

As we all know, life has a way of reminding us how fragile and precious our days are.  Thank you, dear friends, for being a part of mine.  Love you all.

Love, Shug......

  1. Shug, I'm so sorry to hear this about Sam's dad. And poor Sam having to spend the entire night in the ER. I hope the procedure works for his dad. May God wrap around you and Sam like a blanket of comfort and love, Shug, and give you both strength for all the difficult things you are going through.

    Sending love,

  5. Extremely fragile this thing called life. And I agree with Mari and Debby. No need to worry about us. At all. Rooting for his dad and sending love and huggs your way 🤍
