I am thinking that there might be several friends posting that today is the "Official" first day of Fall! Fall has arrived.... For my area, the calendar says that it is the first day of fall....BUT!! But!! But!! But...!!
Cue the pumpkins, the crunchy leaves, the cozy sweaters, the camp fires......RIGHT? Wrong!!
We need to hold on around here. I stepped outside early this morning and wow...it feels more like July snuck back in overnight...we have sticky humidity all around. ๐
I'm feeling pretty positive that there will be NO crisp air and definitely No hot cider for me today. We are in that awkward time of the year when everything ORANGE is popping up...Pumpkins are everywhere and your mind is saying "Hey, it's Fall" but yet the AC is still running full blast, and you just want to keep the iced tea flowing through you.
Still, I'm going to claim it: FALL is here! I can always try some spiced cider in a glass filled with ice cubes...I can put those flannel PJ's on for all of ten minutes (long enough to grab a photo) ...I can still set a pumpkin out on the porch and add a few scatted decorations to fake the vibe. If the leaves don't want to rustle on their own, I might just plug in a fan and let it blow them around so I can pretend it's that picture perfect autumn breeze!! LOL.
Most likely, I'll just sweat my way through the first day of fall and remind myself that cooler days are coming....Until then....long live pumpkin spice and everything nice!!
Happy First day of Fall.....Y'all!
Shug

haha, you are so funny, Shug. I'm sorry that it doesn't feel too much like Fall around your neck of the woods, but I appreciate your enthusiasm with this beautiful first day of Autumn! Up here in the mountains it's cooler, but when I went to the city last week in the valley it was 97 degrees! It wasn't a Fall day at all, so you are not alone. I'm still chuckling at your "fan" reference. You do have a way with words, my dear.

Happy Fall!
ReplyDelete39 degrees when I got up this AM, so it definitely feels like fall here! We lived in the TX Panhandle for 16 years and still have family in the Dallas area where summer hangs on too long. Blessings on your week ahead . . .
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't feel like fall here, either, Shug, but it's on the way. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteWe've got the windows open, but more of the humidity is coming in than the cool breeze.
ReplyDeleteHa ha... here in Wisconsin it is hot too. We have been in the 80's and very humid.
ReplyDeleteWe postponed our day of apple picking because it was too hot.
Love, Carla
Hope you get some crispy cool days soon. LOOOOVE Fall. LOOOOVE it. Do you ever get any fun fall drinks? Or make any at home? ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall! It does feel like Fall here, its cooler and it's cloudy. Hope the cool weather makes its way to you soon.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh... that's what my post is about today too. Mid 90's F for the rest of the week. The AC is still doing its thing and running up our electric bill. Must get some weeding done since the green waste goes out this evening. Sigh

Haha! Happy Fall dear Friend! Sending you cozy thoughts from the north where today it's in the 60's and gray and rainy and feels like the start to Autumn. Lots of peaks at some leaf color too. So sharing it all with you with wishes for a cozy week on the wind! Blessings xo ๐๐งก๐
ReplyDeleteShug, you are my hero!!! You always have such upbeat ideas that are uplifting!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's still unseasonably hot and dry here, but that can't dampen my enthusiasm. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best, my friend. Happy and blessed fall to you! Sending all the cool breezes and autumn winds!
ReplyDeleteIt sure didn't feel like fall here today. It wasn't too terribly hot but the humidity was high and it felt way warmer.
ReplyDeletePretending like it is fall isn't as fun as the real thing, but hopefully soon your temps will drop!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed cooler weather comes soon for you! Much love. ๐❤️
ReplyDeletelove the flannels, my flannel is two huge tent gowns with long sleeves. no use at all until Dec and January. we are walking at day break in 74 degrees and closing down at sunset at 90. enough already. I forgot to mention the header pumpkins. it is absolutely stunning. I just love it...
ReplyDeleteShug, I opened the back door today, just hoping for some cool air...nothing but HOT humidity. Yuck! The calendar might say Fall, but Texas is doing it's own thing, as usual :)
ReplyDeleteTruer words were never said! From your fellow Texan!
