Nothing to Blog About

Have you ever noticed that some days you have a thousand thoughts and words that are ready to spill out like a tipped-over cup of coffee?  Other days...other days it feels like your brain has hung up a sign that says "Closed for Business. Try Again Tomorrow."

And yet....here I am still typing. Why? Because sometimes you just have to show up, even if all you're bringing to the table is the blog equivalent of leftover potato salad.

I could tell you about the weather (too hot, too cold, too something).
I could tell you about what I had for breakfast (spoiler alert: it wasn't that exciting)

Or, I could just keep typing words until they magically turn into something profound. (Don't hold your breath)

Maybe this is the blog post equivalent of standing in front of the fridge, door wide open, hoping inspiration will appear on the shelf between the ketchup and the pickles. It's not there, but hey....at least the light comes on.

So here's the deal:  If you've read this far, congratulations! You've officially joined me in a blog post about nothing. We've Seinfeld-ed this moment together.

Who knows though...maybe the nothing is actually something. Maybe it's a reminder that not every day has to be deep, poetic or facebook worthy. Sometimes it's okay to just laugh at yourself, toss in a few LOL's and call it good.

Today's post is proudly brought to you by Absolutely Nothing!!  LOL

I do hope you all have a magnificent weekend.  Hopefully my brain will be OPENED by tomorrow..

hugs...shug...

  1. Oh my goodness, that is so funny, and you're absolutely right! I'm in a slump myself, and that's how I view my blog as "leftover potato salad" — I love that! Actually, I like leftover potato salad.

Girlfriend, your "nothings" are better than many "somethings." So keep blogging about your "somethings" and your "nothings"! We need to hear it.

  4. Amen ... Sister ...
That's the way I have been too.
Love the word picture of thoughts spilling out of a tipped coffee cup.
You definitely are the Word Master and can make a delightful post out of nothing.
Many days are filled with the mundane of Life.
It may seem that way but sometimes its all I need to have Permission to just blog about nothing, or jump into my archives ,
    or not blog at all.
Sometimes I have so much to say but don't want the "whole world" to know it.
Love those who visit and I love going to their blogs when I can.
    Community !!
Hope the estate sale is going really well.
    Until the next post ...

  5. Sometimes, we can spin a whole lot of something out of the seemingly nothing. I enjoyed your post today, Shug, and it brought a smile to my face and my heart. I've been in that boat, believe me. Enjoy the weekend!

  6. Well, turns out this post is NOT about nothing. Because you kept your beautiful header, which gives me a big jolt of joy when I see it! And yes, I actually would like to know what you had for breakfast!

  7. You can even make nothing sound good on the screen. I often have days where I have nothing to blog about. A personal challenge I made for myself a long time ago makes me come up with something every day though.

  8. Fun post, thank you! At my age we feel blessed if there is just the regular routine. No "adventures" to write about. Hugs, love, and prayers. :)
