Big Hugs

Many of you may have noticed that for the past few months, my blog post really have no rhyme or reason to them.  I've been posting what ever comes to mind when I wake up in the morning.

One of the things that I love most about blogging is that there's no rule book sitting on my desk telling me what I must write about.

I don't have to stay in one lane....I can take a scenic route or detour down a dirt road.  I enjoy being able to talk about anything from the smell of fresh-baked bread to the life lesson I learned when I tripped over a crack in the sidewalk a few years ago.

For me....I'm more of let's see where this cup of coffee takes me kind of writer.  One day...I might share a family story that makes everyone laugh and the next day it might be a faith reflection, and the next day after that....who knows??  Certainly not me!!  I think this is half of the fun for me.

I don't have pets of my own, but I do love seeing your sweet fur babies.  Each time one of you posts a puppy grin or a cat in mid-yawn, I'm right there, heart clicking like crazy.

As you all know, family is most important to me, and you've probably noticed that my posts are peppered...okay, maybe I should say that they are generously seasoned with family moments.  These people are my heart...they are my heart and in most cases the source of my funniest stories.

But, here is the truth to my blogging.  One of the biggest joys for me isn't just the writing...it is YOU!!  You all are my extended family. This little community is a bright spot in my life and I can't imagine my days without your comments, your stories, your prayers and your friendship.  You all make this space so much more than words on a screen...

Random thoughts will continue to always be a part of who I am.  Some funny, some spiritual, many that are true to my heart, and even a few that are simply ridiculous...  I always hope that when you leave "Shug, Steps of Faith" that you come away Blessed.

Shug..

  8. You are a girl after my own heart! That is my own philosophy about blogging as well! It is a place to share our lives with each other, the "good, the bad, and the ugly", but hopefully always with something of value and meaning and joy and blessing and laughter and thanksgiving. Yes, I feel like we are "family" here...and I am very thankful for each and every one of you.

  9. Shug, your posts are always as wonderful or better than ones that have been carefully planned! Because they are mostly not planned, they come from your heart! Not something studied and intellectual. I also enjoy seeing your family. So many bloggers never show or write about their families, and I always wonder who they live with and do they have children, etc.!

  10. How I wish I'd met you years ago when Respice Prospice was still in its infancy! I'll never forget the day I attended an Arizona Bloggers luncheon and they all wanted to know what my blog's 'theme' was. (Huh?!?!)
Your posts light up my life. Seriously.

  11. Blogs like yours are the kind I like the best. When I first started blogging people would tell me what I should and shouldn't do. I finally said enough. It's my big and I'll do what I want. If they like it they will read and if they don't they won't

  12. Love this post so much dear Friend! I adore how you share from your heart and you share your family and faith so beautifully. And I could not agree more about how wonderful these blogland visits and friends mean to me as well. It is such a lovely space to share those who have such similar hearts and interests and that's what makes it fun too. I think so many of us have the shared love of family and how much we treasure this life we're blessed to live. I'm so grateful to have met you here. 💗

  14. I wouldn't change a thing, Shug. Your delightful posts make me smile. I think many of us post about different things. I know I post about family, the little ones, my childhood and my parents, religious days that are important to me, food, nature, COFFEE, and just random things. "This and That" posts are my favorite, so I can totally relate to all your posts. They are wonderful, in my opinion. : )
