Y'all know how much I love family so I thought I would make today's post about the start of Mylee's Senior year. Can you believe that seniors carry backpacks that look almost identical to the ones they toted off to kindergarten. The only difference is back then the backpack was half their size and was stuffed with crayons, storybooks and gummy bears. Now it's probably holding car keys, water bottles and enough snacks to fuel them throughout the day.....Oh, and of course, their phone.
This Happened:
Mylee Jo had her Year book Senior picture made this week. How in the world did we get here so quickly? Seems like just yesterday she was standing on my coffee table singing:
"Oh happy Day, happy day, when Jesus washed, He washed my sins away. He taught me how to watch, fight and pray, Oh happy day, Oh happy day."
I may have teared up a little when seeing her picture. Okay, maybe more than a little.
How cute are those backpacks! It's hard to see them grow up, but also such a blessing to see them reaching such potential. Mylee is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo much to look forward to. I hope she has a lovely year.
ReplyDelete😊❤️
ReplyDeleteFun fun times ahead!!!! Good luck to Mylee....may she have a wonderful last year of high school. Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI’m happy for her. She has such a big future ahead for her. A school trip to Ireland sounds awesome and I’m thinking back to my senior trip - it was to Disneyland. lol.
ReplyDeleteMay she enjoy every single minute of her senior year.
Wishing her a wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteI know what you are feeling. It goes fast. Mylee is beautiful. My Kelly loved Strawberry Shortcake when she came out! We had a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party for her!
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning young lady, Shug! I know you're bursting with pride and so you should be. Have a great senior year, Mylee!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful Family dear Shug! I pray she has an amazing senior year! It's so sad that I've now seen bullet proof backpacks out there for kids. Can you believe that? And after what just happened in Minneapolis, my heart continues to hurt for all the kiddos having to worry about those things when all they want to do is go to school and learn. I don't want evil to win so I know it's important we continue to live life as normally as we can. And I continue to pray for real change in this country in some way that stops these awful tragedies from happening. 🙏🏻💗 May Mylee's year be blessed and safe.
ReplyDeleteYes, that quote from Dr. Seuss. Those are my sentiments exactly too.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most gorgeous Granddaughter. Her Senior year will be awesome. I can't wait to follow along through your eyes as the year progresses.
There was no such thing as backpacks when I went to school (younger years) and especially all the cute character packs.
Love your background and banner.
Sue
I wish her a fantastic year. You have a beautiful family.
ReplyDeleteYour Mylee is so beautiful! Love the backpacks' "personality." (Would you believe, I've never worn one?) Enjoy every new day!
ReplyDeleteThe photo is wonderful! She has grown and changed so much that I would hardly have recognized her. I remember he so well when she was much younger, and her huge smile. I know you will be enjoying every single thing about senior year; we did!
