My day was full of wires and cables... blue cables, yellow cables, white cables and black wires. Oh, and one red cable!
I have to first confess...... I was the reason that we didn't have WiFi !!! It wasn't a thunderstorm and the network company didn't crash......And I DID pay my bill. The truth is, I unplugged the WiFi.... Yep, it was completely on me!
Extra wires and connections that were not even needed...lol
But, it wasn't just the WiFi box. Oh no!! I had to unplug what looked like an entire spaghetti dinner made of cables, wires and mystery connections. TV wires, DVD unit, phone line, pool equipment, and a few cables that I have no clue as to what they belonged to.
Why you might ask!
Because my anniversary present arrived today. A new TV console. I had been looking at this console for some time now and when it went on Sale, Sam said to buy it for my anniversary gift... What? I had the phone in my hand and the 'buy button' tapped before he could finish his sentence. How often does a girl get full permission to furniture shop without even a "Do we really need it?
Of course, it couldn't be simple. The delivery window was "sometime between sunrise and sunset." LOL. Wouldn't you know it...I was the last delivery of the day. So, there I sat all day, surrounded by a pile of tangled connections and no clue what went where. I did take pictures with my phone which was somewhat of a help.
(I really like the industrial look and these little wheels is what I fell in love with)
Later: Enter my tech rescue squad: my son-in-law and my two daughters. They showed up like the heroes they are and worked their magic, getting every plug, box, and blinking light connected and running. Thankfully, they had it all done before Sam got home from visiting his dad at the memory care home.
The TV works, the WiFi works and now, we are good to go.
Big thanks to Sam for this wonderful gift. I truly do love it even if it did come with the need for some minor tech help.
May sweet Blessings surround you today!
Shug...💛
wow, that is a super duper anniversary gift and you are truly blessed with techie children to come and help. it is beautiful and I do love the tv. We got a 65 and love it but yours looks bigger and I wished after we got it we went to the next size. the thing is I had to do it after the two of us manhandled the thing out of the box and on the console. I did get it working but it took two days, but I did not lose our wii-fi. I did not unplug that or the phone thing, only the TV and the cable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely gift. I love things on wheels and I love colour coding as well. Years ago I had a computer desktop...decades ago where the wires were different colours.
ReplyDeleteWhoa, your first image makes me think that's what Hell must be like. Nope, don't have a techie cell in my body. I do love that console and whoever thought of adding those dear little wheels was genius! Like an old lady once told me, "Enjoy it in good health."
ReplyDeleteHa! Sounds like something I would do.
ReplyDeleteI love the new console. I really like the industrial look too.
I used to have a techie mind but the old adage, Use it or Lose it applies. It doesn’t come as easily as it used to and that kinda scares me. I tend to really enjoy all of that and I just can’t keep up.
ReplyDeleteLove that stand. I like the industrial look in decorating too. Happy Anniversary
Like you, I'd be completely at a loss when it came to those wires; glad you had the rescue squad on hand to save the day! Your new console is fantastic, too. Sam is certainly a keeper, Shug, but then again, you already know that. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful gift from Sam. Wow, all those wires look complicated. I chuckled when you said, "an entire spaghetti dinner made of cables, wires." haha I like your big tv. I have that size as well, but I want to get a slightly smaller one sometime. It's too big for my small house, but fun to watch those special movies. yaaay for the tech group to come in and set it up for you. Enjoy your console, Shug - it has many drawers and cabinets to put things in there. ; )

Wow, that was some anniversary gift. I love the console and the industrial look.
ReplyDeleteThank heavens for Techies coming to your rescue. What would we do without them??
Happy that everything is up and running again.
