Good morning friends...
Just wanted to hop on and give a quick update on Sam. Yesterday was a very long and somewhat stressful day. The doctor was able to give the full dose of radiation (delivered to two different places in the liver) and Sam's body is handling everything well at this time.
The doctor told us that in a couple of days, to expect Sam to feel like he has a bad case of the flu for about 7 days.
Due to the radiation being given internally through the veins, none of us can be within 3 feet of him. This means, that I am sleeping in the guest room for the next 10 days.
I so appreciate every prayer that has been lifted up on Sam's behalf. We see an oncologist surgeon Tuesday at 11:00 and then another oncologist at 2:00 the same day. The second oncologist will most likely (we have been told) start him on chemo pills. Please just continue to keep us in your prayers.

Thanks for your update. I was thinking of you and Sam and glad his body is receiving the radiation treatment well. That’s interesting how you all have to keep some distance from him - I had no idea on this. Good thing you gave a guest room. It sounds like Sam has good Doctors that are attacking this cancer in his liver. Continued prayers for Sam, you and your whole family during this time. 💐
Thanks so much for the update on Sam. Prayers for him and of course for you. This will be a difficult time but I know its all in the Lord's hands. It does sound like you have wonderful doctors that will do the very best for him.

Thank you for the update on Sam, I hope he handles it well and doesn't get too sick. I bet there are other precautions you have to take also. I know of one gal with thryroid cancer that had to be in the hospital for her radiation treatments in isolation and then special monitoring of her urine. Even once she got home she had special procedures. The chemo /radiation worked great for her
Thank you so much for this update! I have not heard od radiation through the veins. Phil had radiation seeds inserted and we could not get close to him for awhile. I will be praying that his side effects will not be too bad and for great success with this treatment. Phil's radiation seeds worked wonderfully!

Thank you so much for this update, Shug; I was thinking of y'all all yesterday. How far, modern medicine has evolved! Back in 2013, my Tom was undergoing the traditional radiation -- that left him exhausted. Spent. Still praying -- for the both of you!

Oh my dear sweet friend. You know I will put Sam at the top of the Prayer list, and my dearest and I will be holding him in prayer. Hope you can get some good rest in the Guest Room. How we love and care for our dear husbands. Hugs and Kisses!
Dear Shug, I'm so sorry Sam is going through this.....and you. It's good to know that his body is handling it well after his treatment. When I said the Rosary this morning, I put Sam in my intentions. Thinking of you deeply on this Friday afternoon, Shug.

I will definitely keep you and Sam in my prayers. I know this will be challenging, especially with the radiation distance situation. praying all will go well and that this treatment will do exactly what needs to be done to bring about his healing. Wow - that is a lot! Chemo - radiation - sleeping in different rooms - worries. I am going to stop right now and send a prayer and will keep them coming. For you too. God is with you b oth.
My prayers are lifted, and will be continued to be said every day, for Sam and you! I had no idea that once someone has had radiation treatment that others could not be in close proximity to him or her. That's a true hardship for you and your entire family. I do know that your strong faith in the Lord will get you through, Shug, but know that we are all here for you to give all the love and support that we possibly can. Tell Sam he is loved and prayed for!

Oh that has not only to be painful for Sam to go through, but you too as well.
