Tuesday is here!! Sorta have a busy day today. Sam has an appointment early this morning and hopefully we will have breakfast afterwards. A stop at the grocery store is on my to do list, and then I have to go pick up some dresses that are being altered.
Our first wedding of the year is just a little over 4 weeks away. The dress I purchased was long, but I really wanted to wear a tea-length dress. Since I do not sew, I had to send it out to be altered.
SO.... a couple weeks ago, Sam and I went to one of Mylee's softball games. I thought I was going to Melt from the heat!! If someone had offered me a popsicle or a kiddie pool, I would've called them an angel.
Fast forward to last night's game....same place, same bleachers, but this time??? I had to cover up with a blanket!! On one side of me, I had an umbrella propped up to block the cold wind and I then was wrapped up from head to toe in a nice warm blanket.
At this point, I think that I would like to UNSUBSCRIBE from the weather!! No joke!
One game I'm sweating like a hot biscuit, the next I'm bundled up like Santa.
It was a double header, which meant we were going to be there for a L-O-N-G time. We ended up winning the first game and losing the last.
Before all the excitement of attending the game, I did get a few productive things done yesterday. I finally filled and hung the hummingbird feeders....woo hoo!!
And now, I'm sitting her like a proud hummingbird landlord waiting for my tiny little tenants to show up...Keeping my fingers crossed that we have a lot of them this year.
My massive undertaking was cleaning out the refrigerator yesterday. Oooops....I may have found a couple packages of cream cheese that were outdated. Are any of you in need of pickles?
We have 5 jars of different kinds of pickles in the refrigerator!! Who does this? ✋
Sweet, Dill, Bread and Butter, Kosher, and
Jalapeno Pickles.
Just a regular week around here... 1....unpredictable weather
2....sports
3....house cleaning
4....tending to the critters
I am super grateful for today and all the little moments that will make it special. Life isn't always perfect, but there is so much beauty in the small things (like the expectation of seeing our first hummingbird of the season.)
Here's to holding onto the good, letting go of what doesn't bring us peace, and walking through this day with our hearts full of thankfulness.
See y'all tomorrow!
Have fun, stay safe, and Give God Glory!!
shug.....💜
My back or my legs wouldn’t allow me to sit for a double header. You must have some good back support or just strong muscles! I think we all are starting to get busy for the next couple of weeks with Easter on its way. I’ll take the kosher pickles! My favorite.
ReplyDeleteWe keep all our bird feeders out year round. I bet it would be nice to see the hummingbirds return if you haven’t seen them in awhile. Ours are here year round and have little itty bitty nests in the redwood trees or cedars.
It’s always pleasant to visit you - Thank you for being YOU.
I am still gasping at the pickles!!! i think the most i have had back when I could eat them is 3 different ones. I do love bread and butter pickles.. and i wish i could eat pickles. I can eat olives and like them too. yikes on the summer to santa views of the game.. we are having a cold front today, a week of waking to 72 and going in 90's and today woke to 71, wend down to 67 and high it 78, brrrrr on the cold front. ha ha
ReplyDeleteHot one day and freezing the next . . . That's spring for you! And is there a sport Mylee doesn't play? Wow, she's so talented. Have a blessed day, Shug!
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle at your question regarding who keeps five jars of pickles open in their fridge...ugh, that would be me. lol We always have Crunchy Dill, Sweet, and Bread & Butter...always! But then there's the pickled corn relish, the Dilly Beans, and now and then I pick up a jar of the hot cauliflower!
ReplyDeleteSounds as if your weather has been as unpredictable as ours here of late. We did the snow, but it was just a light dusting and is all melted here by noon. But the low was 26 F so it did a number on all of the flowers that were blooming, and I'm sure it didn't do our pear trees any good as they were both out in full bloom. God is still good! xx
My Great Grands would eat all your pickles:) Have a beautiful day Shug!
ReplyDeleteSpring is always crazy here, too. I sympathize with sitting through a double header. I don’t like to sit unless it’s for a nap.
ReplyDeleteI am such a Pickle Gal ... love them all and have just 2 jars in the fridge now..I'm the only one that eats them so they last a long time. Kosher Dill is my favorite but all of the others run a close second.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a great softball fan but if it was for any of my Grands I would be the top #1 fan for sure.
We have hummers here year around. I just love them and could spend hours just watching them. At our former home the birds built a nest right outside our bedroom window. 2 eggs and 2 tiny sweet birds hatched and it was fascinating watching mama feed them. This was before cell phone cameras and I never got good photos of them. Wish I had. I may have to dig up a few of my film snaps of them, if I can find them.
Have a wonderful day...stay Cool, stay Warm.. what ever the weather is going to throw at you..(:0)

I saw a meme yesterday that said Mother Nature is bipolar. :) Although in our area, we just keep getting snow, and that's what's happening again today. I think it's going to stay cold and the suddenly we'll be in the middle of summer!
ReplyDeleteWe aren't pickle people, none in our frig!
At least you have a nice variety of pickles. In our house there has been a time or two that Hubby overlooked the dill spears in the refrigerator and went out to get another jar :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Shug! I just spent some time catching up on your posts and yes, it's been warm and then cold here, too. Yikes, I'm not thrilled with the cold, but at least it hasn't snowed. Yet! 😉 I'm so glad to hear that your procedure went well and you're feeling great. The pickles look good, too. We love them at our house!
ReplyDeleteYou guys must really love pickles! Your header is so awesome!! How did you do that? The weather here has been 70 one day, then going to be 20 tonight! Go figure!
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather here, as well. Because I refuse to engage the central heat for the foreseeable future, I did resurrect the Hudson Bay blanket I've loved since 1950-something. You know, I shudder to think how many jars of pickles and condiments are lurking in our refrigerator. For some reason, Tom has a 'thing' for them -- cruising the grocery aisles has become his happy place.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your new dress(es)!
I don't miss the cold weather of sports games. Softball season would start and it would be freezing! Pickles don't last around here. My daughter is a pickle fanatic.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do hope you see some of those precious hummingbirds coming around every morning. They are fascinating to watch. My neighbor has her feeder out, and they come around often. With me, it's a joy when I water my flowering bush, and they hover over it. They seem to love water. Your words at the end are so special, Shug. The small joyful moments in our lives make life so nice for us. And Yes, give Glory to God!

That's how the weather's been here as well. The other day I was out in capris and sandals, and today it was a sweatshirt topped by a very warm hoodie.
ReplyDeleteLoved "now, I'm sitting her like a proud hummingbird landlord waiting for my tiny little tenants to show up." The image made me smile so big.
You sound back to normal - a busy life. I know you are excited about the wedding. Ball games. The weather is absolutely insane. We had rain - then cooler weather. I love cooler weather - I am NOT a fan of hot weather. Five jars of pickles. Have you ever tried Gillo's pickles? They are delicious - and there are no hidden chemicals in them. I am into checking some of that kind of stuff out.
ReplyDeletelololol on the pickles. I have various kinds that I made in my fridge too!
ReplyDeleteIt's been cooooooold here. Snowed most of the day and the heat is cranked!
Whatcha got planned for TRY IT THURSDAY?
I was off to Women's Bible Study this morning, and didn't have a chance to catch your blog early. So now it's bedtime and I'm just getting around to my visits. I love your humming bird feeders and know before long you will have a congregation!! Speaking of pickles. Not only do I have several jars (mixed variety) and 5 more jars in the pantry. My dearest loves pickles, and loves pickle juice. No wonder he loves me, my maiden name was "Dill". My favorite is the bread and butter (my sweet tooth).
ReplyDeleteWe had our introduction to our new Bible Study ~ The book of Esther. A short 6 week study before we take our summer break.
I look forward to seeing your dress for the wedding. I have several in my closet that were worn once at the wedding....and only a couple I have used since.
This crazy weather...Hot, Cold, Windy, Hot, rain, ect. Hoping it will settle down and stay Spring for a while. Sending hugs!!
I always put some little candies out around the hummingbird feeder, it piques their interest and they show up sooner.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about our weather. It's all over the place right now. I think I may have 2 different kinds of pickles in my fridge right now
