I've Got This

This lovely rooster called this morning and I answered...with a few regrets!  lol.

Yesterday was a cozy dream around here!

Pj's almost all day long, fuzzy socks, hot coffee on repeat, and a pot of soup that fed both my belly and my soul.

Today? I've traded my soup spoon for a salad fork. Starting the Mediterranean meal plan, which means more veggies, more olive oil, and a lot less cheese than my taste buds desire.

I'm going to pretend that feta is a big reward!! I suppose it's goodby to comfort food and hello to hummus and cucumbers.  I don't even know if I like hummus??

This weeks goals:

* Eat like I live on a Greek island...while dreaming of cinnamon rolls!

* Move my body even if it's just walking back and forth from the back door to the front door.

* Drink more Water!! We shall see!!

* Be productive by doing a bit of bookkeeping.

I've got this!!

Sounds like a pretty good day to me.

Shug!!

  7. It will be a good day and Bravo for starting the diet. I must get back into that mode too. It's been a slippery slope for me weight wise..I don't ever want to be back to what I was 6 or 7 years ago. Prayers appreciated.
Love your rocking chair header. So cozy.
Yes to your comment on my blog... I would love for us to be neighbors too and sip a cuppa.

  8. Your comments always give me a giggle! But yes, you have got this my lovely Lady! I'm there working right along side you. And it's amazing if you start researching there are yummy alternatives or twists you can do to make food you love more healthy. Don't deprive yourself either - or you won't stick with it. And moving is everything. My joints always scream motion is lotion!! (I also have moderate not fun arthritis) 😉 Yay for a new week and just choosing some healthier options. But still enjoy your life!! Blessings. xoxo

  9. Yes, we have recently been ordered more than once to drink more water! But honestly, at some point I get so bloated that I just cannot achieve the goal! I so much hope this diet works for you! Maybe you can schedule a regular cheat day once in awhile?

  10. You can totally do it. Aren’t you a vegetarian? Just eat more veggies, fish if you are a pescatarian - I love olive oil. I use it exclusively and even bake with it. But get a good quality. Not all Olive oils are the same. I drizzle olive oil on my salads, veggies, grilled meat. Yum. Lots of nuts and legumes. Yum I’m getting hungry just talking about it. I don’t eat feta cheese. I don’t like it. Hummus is just smashed up garbanzo beans also known as chick peas with olive oil, garlic and tahini paste which is sesame. Delicious. We don’t eat entirely Mediterranean but my mom always added many of those foods into our everyday diet. You’ll grow to love the fresh, clean eating. I know you can master anything you put your mind to! I’m excited for you! 😘

  13. Oh dear, I wish you the very best in your new diet journey. May God direct your steps and your fork and spoon, and give you peace of mind and vitality of spirit and body. Maybe you can share some recipes, once you figure them out, with the rest of us. I know I need to do that , but just can't seem to do it on my own, and hubby is not very encouraging in that department. He loves his meat and potato and bologna and cheese diet. LOL. Blessings to you my friend. One step at a time.

  14. The Mediterranean food plan all sounds delish ... maybe with the exception of kale. It's not awful, but I'm still trying to enjoy feta. (Are they sure you can't substitute bleu or Gorgonzola?)
You sound like a determined gal, and I look forward to watching your progress! Put on Mamma Mia and dance!

  15. I LOVE hummus. Do you like roasted red peppers? Red pepper hummus. Pure joy!

  16. Oh that is a marvelous food plan. I have eaten pretty much that way for sometime. Lots of eggs, cucumbers, avocados, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes. I have a large sweet tooth and that is my downfall. I try to keep it to one small treat! But I don't always make it. I'm very proud of you and know you will begin to really enjoy it and will feel much better too. You Go Girl!!! Love and Hugs

  17. You can do it Shug! I recently had to go with a new diet for my husband and it can seem overwhelming at first. Find some things you really love and stick with those for the main food and then slowly add new things once you have the basics down. But remember that your body needs all foods for different reasons. Carbs can still be your friend :) I hope you have a restful week and continue to feel better :)

  18. I wish you luck with your new diet. I have tried so many times to change my eating habits and I'm good for a while and then I go back to my junk eating ways.

  19. It's so hard to cut back on or cut out certain favorites from our diets, Shug, but I have no doubt that you can do anything you set your mind to. Blessings!

  20. This sounds like a pretty good list to start out with, Shug. I need to drink more water too! Feta cheese on a Greek salad is simply delicious. Oh my, that rooster crowing brought back a lot of not so good memories. Our neighbor in So Cal had roosters, and they would not only crow in the morning, but all through the day. They were LOUD, and one of the reasons we had to move! I hope the roosters near you are not too loud. Your pot of soup sounds so good, comfort food for sure.

That picture in your header looks exactly like the trail/bike path behind my complex. (I had to do a double take when I saw it.)
