Good Morning Beautiful Day!
The Sun is shining, but we still have some very chilly weather around here.
This is an Old Wash tub sitting out in our back yard. Several leaves had settled in the bottom of the tub, but they are now
at the top and are frozen in place by the ice. We are still below freezing.
Any standing water is frozen..

What happens when you are too lazy to cook dinner? You order Chinese Takeout.
Sam ordered Sesame chicken
Mylee ordered Orange Chicken, and I had egg drop soup!
I think I am the only one in the family that likes Egg Drop Soup. It sounded good to me since it was cold outside last evening.

The cold weather makes for the perfect excuse to retreat to the bed a little early. For me, Winter evenings are all about one simple ritual: Climbing into bed early, turning on my electric blanket, and staying warm while I watch a good movie on TV.
After a long day, this little slice of comfort is EVERYTHING!! I'll admit, watching TV in bed feels like a guilty pleasure, but I just can't help myself. LOL.. Staying warm, being relaxed and savoring the quite time is what being cozy is all about.

Today's Goals:
Coffee in my cup....sunshine on my face and a whole lot of positivity in my heart.
Enjoy this lovely day dear friends..
Shug.
You made a dinner out of just egg drop soup?!?
ReplyDeleteI wasn't very hungry....I normally would have added a cup of soup to my order of egg rolls.
DeleteI also enjoy Egg Drop Soup. It's one thing that I always make a point of getting when we go to an Asian Buffet not far from here.
ReplyDeleteWe were still below zero last night, but it's warming up. It's currently 25, which after days in the teens feels like a heat wave. lol
The picture of the leaves frozen in place in the washtub is so pretty.
Have a wonderful day, Shug!
I was so surprised to see the frozen tub of water. While I have enjoyed the cold weather this past week, I am about ready for some above 50 degree days. Keep Warm.
DeleteI wish we had a good chinese takeout around here. I love it - and egg drop soup too!
ReplyDeleteIt's cold here still and we got a foot of snow last night. I'm ready for Spring!
another foot of snow? I can not imagine...Texas would be shut down with just a few inches of snow. LOL.. Do y'all use gas or all electricity to heat your home?
DeleteI love your Thursday goals.
ReplyDeleteWe go to bed early in the winter too. It is our time to rest up for a busy spring - autumn.
xx oo
Carla
Thank you Carla. I love going to bed early..Sam likes to stay up and watch tv. You do have a busy Spring ahead...get all the rest you need before then.
DeleteEgg Drop soup sounds wonderful right about now. Stay warm, Shug!
ReplyDeleteI know you all have some really cold temps right now..Y'all stay safe and warm as well.
DeleteAhhh Shug, I just love your positive thoughts at the end of your blog post.
ReplyDeleteThat's my goal too.
While I think of it...
When I read my devotion this morning it brought back your blog post from yesterday.
This is from "Jesus Calling"
"It's alright to be Human. When your mind wanders while you are praying, don't be surprised or upset. Simply return your attention to ME. Know that I understand. Rejoice in My love for you, which has no limits or conditions. Remember I will never leave you or forsake you..... My strength and power show themselves most effective in your weakness."
Just thought I would share this promise with you.
Sue
I am glad to read this portion of your devotion. So right...we are human and far from perfect. Even the disciples fell asleep. Thank you for sharing! we serve an awesome God. Enjoy your positive thoughts today.
DeleteNow I want Chinese food. We both actually love egg drop soup, and it is Phil's favorite. I make it quite often, and sometimes add chicken or other odds & ends.
ReplyDeleteI've never made it Ginny, but I'm guessing it can't be too hard. having it last evening warmed my body on a cold winter's night..
Deleteit seems I am the only one that has never had egg drop soup, also have never called out for Chinese food, only pizza sometimes, I wish we had a place to deliver burgers.. if I want them I have to go get them. now I have to email Ginny and ask how to make egg drop soup. I am not overly fond of eggs and try to find ways to hide the fact I am eating eggs,
ReplyDeleteWe have a very nice Chinese food place here in our town. Since it was cold outside, I thought that the egg drop soup would be warming. it was! I don't eat it often, just ever once in a while. It was nice to not have to cook.
