I was so excited to see the Sunshine yesterday afternoon. The temperature got up to 53 Degrees and it felt so good just to stand outside and let the Sun beam down on me.
After having freezing temps for the past couple of weeks, it seems like our part of the world can finally breath a collective sigh of relief........ I. know I am for sure! I spent a good bit of time out in the sun...soaking up those rays!!
Surely I am not the only one who notices a drop in my serotonin levels after having no sunshine for a few days.....? While I think it would be awesome to live in Alaska (for at least a year). ............
I honestly don't think I could. I need Sunshine! 🌞🌞🌞 I've heard that there are many days when the sun doesn't shine in the Beautiful state of Alaska.

Scientifically, sunlight is a natural source of Vitamin D...... and we all need plenty of sunshine to boost our vitamin D levels.
I do take supplements but nothing beats getting plenty of Vitamin D directly from the sun.
The golden light of the sun reinvigorates my spirit and nudges me to get up...get out of the house...and get some exercise.
I walked up and down the driveway several times...this counts as exercise, doesn't it?
Woo....look how tall I am in this shadow!!
My 5'4" body just grew to a good 10'3"
If you think about it, shadows are just beautiful symbols of the presence of light. It's fun seeing how your shadow on the ground makes you taller...longer....and sometimes
W-I-D-E-R ! lol.. Oh yes...I took one of those pictures too...lets just say, I prefer the tall and skinny shadows.
My shadow made me smile as I made a few playful gestures to share with you all. I hope my shadow wave made you smile too. Hopefully my playfulness brightened someone's day.
Oh yes...the sunshine has returned and I am once again reminded how simple things like the rays of the sun can be such a cheerful companion to us. Another "Shining" moment.
Hope your day is filled with Happiness!!
Lots and lots of Happiness!!
Shug.
Hooray for sunshine! Here in West Michigan we don't see a lot of sun in Jan and Feb because of Lake Effect clouds. It does cause depression and we are so happy when the sun comes out!
ReplyDeleteI like the tall skinny shadows too! :)
My town (Redding Ca)is known as the second sunniest city in America, second only to Yuma, Arizona. While that is nice for the most part, I do relish those not so sunny days as well. I guess we’re weird here because everyone looks forward to rain! Hey, shadow photos of myself are the best! Cute post today, Shug.
ReplyDeleteyes i am smiling at your shadows, waving madly and happy you have sunshine and doing a happy dance that today we the sunshine state, after FOUR days in a row without sunshine have it blasting away.. hooooray... we love sunshine. still chilly but who cares as long as we can see our shadows
ReplyDeleteThe sun is shining here again, too, and it always brightens my mood and energizes me. Love your playful shadow photos, too! Blessings, Shug!
ReplyDeleteShug, you yourself are like the sun in your posts. So joyful and uplifting! Even your shadows radiate positivity and joy!
ReplyDeleteShug, we've got a pretty blue sky with nice white clouds scattered about. I'm waving back at your shadow. Have a nice day and take care.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you finally have some warm temperatures! That sunshine makes all the difference in my mood. Last night was the first night this week that we didn't have subzero temps, and it made such a difference in the warmth of the house this morning when we got up.
ReplyDeleteNow I've got that song lyric playing in my head, "... just spread sunshine all over the place, and put on a happy face!"
ReplyDeleteMy son is all the time reminding me to get my Vitamin D -- both naturally and via pill form -- but sadly, more often than not I'm remiss.
Love the shadow shots and waving back West!
We've sun today. It really is lovely, even if it is cold.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of sunny days here too. That's why winters are so nice, even when it's cold out.
ReplyDeleteI am happy that you are ten feet tall and having fun outside. It has been dark lately. I love sun as well - I don't even need to be out of it - I am happy knowing it is sunny outside!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to get into the 40s (and even close to 50!) over the next few days. I cannot wait.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing as good as a bright sunny day to motivate me to get some work done, or, and maybe more likely, take my camera out to find some beauty.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the sun always makes me happy too. Too many gloomy days in a row and I get sluggish. We're still getting cold temps but having the sun shine is a nice consolation prize
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the sun is back to warm your bones, Shug. We've had a whole month of sunshine in January, but winter is not over for us yet, as we're expected some snow in February. Your shadows are a fun and playful way of taking a picture of yourself. Your photos are delightful. Enjoy the warmth of the sun.
