February Happenings

You all were right......I am the little blonde on the far left.  My Sister.... the taller one in the middle.

My sister (Joyce) passed away when she was 28...   I have posted about this before but my new blogging friends most likely would not have read the post from so long ago.

She and her husband were killed in a car wreck in 1978.  All three of the kids were severely injured and my niece Tammy had a serious brain injury which left her with brain damage. My parents raised my sister's children.

You all prayed for Tammy not long ago when she had surgery to correct her eye.  I am so very thankful for Blogging Prayer Warriors.

speaking of TAMMY....💛💛

She has a lot of excitement coming up this next month.

Have any of you ever heard of The Tim Tebow Foundation....."Night to Shine?"

"Night to Shine" is an unforgettable worldwide celebration event, centered on God's love, honoring people with special needs.  It is like a big "Prom" but this Prom is even more special.
It is all about evening gowns, makeup, and polished nails for the ladies.  Tuxedos and shined shoes for the guys.
There are limousines, a red carpet entrance, dancing and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or Queen.

This is Tammy and Bryan (her cousin) a few years ago at one of the "Night to Shine" events.
Tammy has already selected her fancy dress for this years occasion and I will be taking her shopping for the perfect shoes one day
 this next week.

The big night is scheduled for Feb 7th.

👑🫅👑🫅👑🫅

And then......

Our family has a big SURPRISE Birthday party planned for Tammy on Sunday, Feb. 9th.   She will be turning '50' on February 14th! 💗

That's right.....she is a Valentine 💘 Baby!!

Tammy loves surprises and she loves going out to eat...Two of her favorite things will be happening to Celebrate her!!

I am so excited for her and can't wait to post pictures of these events.

Hoping your day overflows with pure
peace, love, & JOYfulness this day!

Shug......

How special for your niece! In my area Albert Pujols (a former Major League Baseball player) holds a yearly prom, but I do believe it is just for people with Down's Syndrome.

I'm so sorry for this huge loss. It's been a lot of years, but I know you still miss her.
How exciting for Tammy! I love that he does this.
PS - my daughter is a Valentines baby too!

this is my first time to hear about the Shine Prom, what a super great birthday gift to Tammy. I participated in a Senior Prom for the nursing home residents in the home I voluntered in. It was exactly what you describe here and I know the joy it will bring to those who attend with Tammy. Love the dress in the photo and can't wait to see photos from this year. Tammy shares my sons birthday, David will be 60 when she turns 50. Happy Birthday Tammy

I love all the hearts on your page. OMG. So fun. Back in the day, I used to take over my hubby's blog and decorate it for Valentine's Day. That was fun. Now though, you got me thinking I should get back into making fun hearts and smoochies on my blog too.

Very sorry to read about the car accident. OMG. Very sad. Very glad to read that all is well with Tammy. That's a wonderful thing.

PS: For sure I will post both the bag and the new air fryer lid. One more sleep to go. I am a little on the fence about this product. Either way, it's gonna be a fun weekend of playing.

Cheers and boogie boogie. Ivy.

I love Tim Tebow and now especially, his "Shine" initiative. Tammy is positively beaming in these images ... they just lift my heart by its strings. Proud to be one of your Prayer Warriors!

I have heard of Tim Tebow's Night to Shine event, Shug. Now, there's someone who deeply cares for others, putting his money where his mouth is, and doing special things for those too often marginalized by our society. Tammy is glowing in the photos; she radiates a pure heart of joy. Blessings!

What sadness for your family back in 1978. I hope you find some beautiful dancing shoes for Tammy, it sounds like a great celebration!

Thank you for sharing about your sister who died at the age of 28. What a tragedy and what special parents you have as they took in the three children.

I'm so glad that things went well for Tammy's eye surgery. And I will look forward to hearing and seeing all of the fun things coming her way in February! xx

My parents were wonderful parents. They both have since passed. For them it was like raising a second family but they were great at doing so. Tammy is so excited about the prom

The years pass by, but we never forget the precious memories. An amazing man is how I would describe Tim Tebow...he blesses so many with this event alone.

I love how those who are able, give so much to others with disabilities. It truly blesses them in ways that we can not even begin to imagine.

I didn't know about your one sister and her husband. So very sorry to hear that.
Tammy sure has some exciting events coming her way. That "Night to shine" sounds awesome. I bet she will enjoy her birthday celebration as well. My dad's birthday was on Valentines day.

What an inspiring event! Then add Tammy’s birthday and she will definitely feel the family love! Sad about her parents - your sister. Tragic. God is able to bring good out of even the most senseless tragedy. I pray Tammy’s life continues to shine the light of Jesus!

Thanks for the kind words. Really fun to play.

Ari fryer lid will be in my hot little hands tonight. Already have instapot potatoes done and soon to cool. I'll use them chopped later as breakfast potatoes with the new air fryer lid. So fun!

Sunday Thoughts.

Good Sunday Morning.... Look how cute my newest little gnomes are.  They are kinda small, but they fit perfectly at the end of the TV cons...
