This was the "Official" drink of the day when I was a kid growing up!
Water.....and iced tea were the drinks of the day way back then. An occasional Soda was something we looked forward to! And...the cost of a "Coke" was only 5 Cents.
When it came to playing sports, WE drank WATER from paper cups!! Now it is squeeze bottles! Gatorade is one of the top sports drinks these days....
Wow...we would have loved having Gatorade!
Speaking of Sports, this was the score at the end of Mylee's Basketball game last evening. We won 65 to 24!

Our area of the State has had PLENTY of Rain! 3 inches of rain fall can cause a lot of flooding. Many of the Country roads are flooded right now.

I saw this recipe and decided that I sure need to give it a try. Looks so very simple.
Sprinkle parmesan cheese, mixed with turmeric, salt and pepper, on top of the olive oil. Place sliced carrots on top of the cheese. Bake at 350 for 20 min.
Water out of the hose had a different taste:) Looks like a good way to prepare carrots:)
ReplyDeleteThis is such an unusual recipe, but I am really tempted to try it! I remember when cokes were five cents. And if someone would have told us back then that water was being bottled and actually sold, we would have laughed at them.
ReplyDeleteYes, our drink was water back then.....and we drank it straight from the hose. Those were the good 'ole days. I sometimes drink Gatorade when I'm working in the heat. The carrots baked with parmesan cheese looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteYaaay, for the win on the basketball game!
Have a wonderful rest of the week.

Yea, water from the hose was a definite and we loved sweet tea as well. I am a Florida girl myself, so those that come from the south seem to like the same things. That carrot recipe looks good, and seems simple will have to give it a try for sure. I wrote a comment before but not sure if it went thru unless you have comment moderation, so will leave it again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog yesterday and for your kind and encouraging comments, they were very appreciated.
