It was such a beautiful day yesterday and today.   The sun has been such a beautiful sight to see here in good ol' East Texas.   I tried to spend a little time outside, soaking up some Vitamin D.

Christmas vacation has ended for my girls.   Teachers started back to school on Monday and the kids went back yesterday.  It has been a great break for all of them.    And in no time they will be out again for Spring Break!!

My calendar is looking pretty full for the next month or so.   We have a trip to make that is coming up soon.....We have a WEDDING coming up real soon.....and we have Birthday celebrations to enjoy.

I took my niece shopping this morning.....for a "Prom" dress!
It's not just any Prom that she is going to....it's the "Night to Shine" Prom that Tim Tebow host each year.   Last year was Tammy's first year to attend and I think I remember blogging about it to some extent.

This is a great thing that Tim Tebow does each year.   This prom is for the those who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What a wonderful Blessing it is that Tim is able to give these people a very special night to feel super important.

We found one dress that looked super great on Tammy, but I think she had her heart set on a Red dress......so, a red dress is what we purchased.   And, I must say, it's the perfect dress...the perfect color...the perfect fit.

While we were shopping, I had this weird thing happen.   I've had a really bad cough and much congestion, but I went to the Dr. last Friday and got medicine.  I got two shots, an antibiotic and some cough medicine.

On Sunday, I felt a wee bit sick and a little nauseous.   On Monday, I was totally sick with nausea and had to stay in bed all day.   I called the Dr. and they changed my antibiotic as well as send me out some anti-nausea meds.   I kinda felt some pressure in my left ear, but it got better.

This morning, while shopping with Tammy.....I suddenly felt this
S O M E T H I N G  happening in my left ear.   It really scared me and I thought I was going to have to call Sam to come get me.

After some time, it kinda went away.   BUT.....I have had it again this evening.   I think it's fluid!!   I'm taking a New antibiotic that the Dr. sent me out on Monday afternoon and as I read the side-effects on this particular medicine, one thing was that it can cause ear issues.   Wouldn't you know it??   I can't say for sure that this medicine has caused these new symptoms, but I don't think I want to take it any longer.

I'm just not sure that I trust a lot of these meds that are out there these days.   I'm good with Amoxicillin.  Better yet, maybe just home remedies.

I usually get this bronchial stuff every January and it seems to last forever.   I have been drinking Hot Tea with honey and lemon....and I truly believe it has helped a whole lot.

Well, this is what's been happening in my world.   How about the rest of you?  Hope you're all well....

  1. I just read on Facebook to take a teaspoon of honey mixed with 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. They are both antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal. I have not tried this yet, but I think it couldn't hurt and may be worth trying. Keep us posted on how you feel. And I hope you will be posting Tammy in that red dress!

  3. Hi Shug~

I remember you talking about the prom last year, what a blessing! I hope you take a few pictures of her with her red dress on!

I'm so sorry that you have been sick! I think that bug is going around the nation, we had it right before Christmas, and then Bob got the flu on top of it...he was really sick! But, that congestion thing was really bad. Tea with honey and lemon really does do the trick, keep drinking it! Hope you feel better soon... :0)

    Hugs and Love,
    Barb
