Good Sunday Morning to you from San Marcos Texas! Sam is getting ready for his Pecan Show today and I am working right here in the room.
We came down a day early and enjoyed the afternoon in the little town of Gruene. I love the atmosphere of this quaint place. Antique stores, cute shops that sell unique items, and some of the best eating places ever. I always love to eat at the Grist Mill, but I think I have found a NEW best place place to eat EVER.
I do have a lot of pictures to post, but not until next week. One picture is of the "Gruene River Mill" oh my goodness, the best Fish Tacos I have ever eaten.......
Our table looked out over the river and we could see all the (Toobs) as they rushed through the rapids. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon meal with the best scenery.
Do you have any idea what sights you can see at a river setting. There definitely is not much fashion going on. What we did see were a lot of red blistered bodies. Eight or so hours on the river would have a tendency to provide you with the best sunburn you could imagine. By that afternoon you could hear the tiredness in a lot of people and I think they were beginning to feel the heat from all that sunshine.
We contemplated floating down the river ourselves, but didn't see any tractor tubes available to rent. Seems like the tubes haven't gotten much smaller since we last enjoyed floating the river.
Back to the sights.....Lots of people with lots of different styles in life.....

Sam has to work a few more days down here and after I finish shopping at the outlet mall, I might just head on down to the river for an afternoon of floating.
I can't swim at all, but surely with a tube I could handle those rapids......

Be careful if you go out on the water. It sounds fun. I love those "lazy rivers" at water parks--I could spend the whole day on one but sometimes they make you get out so others can get in. :( Oh, well share and share alike.
