Prayers please for neighboring towns..  Tornados hit these areas last evening and has caused Much Destruction.  There have been deaths, many injuries, homes destroyed as well as businesses.  So much damage.  Prayers appreciated.

Wow....I can't believe it.

I took my header photo while we were on our Canada trip.....gosh, it is so pretty up there.   

I added two words to this photo..... "simplify life"

Basically, because this is what I've been thinking about today.

to simplify life, it requires us to let go of some of our obsessions!

I'm speaking to myself here...

I will confess, that I am obsessed with making sure that EVERYONE around me is comfortable and happy!

I'm obsessed with making sure our home is comfy, cozy and decorated in a way that makes my heart happy.

I'm obsessed with daily routines.  I'm obsessed with being on time!!!

I'm obsessed with wanting everything to be perfect!!!

that's a funny one isn't it?  We all know that things are not perfect.  

However, I have reached a point in my life where the need for all these things seems to be on the back burner for me.

Is this an age thing?  Where we finally grow up and start to take life day by day.....stride by stride.  

Perhaps it is Contentment!!

Being content where I am in life.....being content with my being.   OR....is it realizing that I can't make things perfect.

I can't choose the happiness of others....I can not secure that in anyone but myself.

I can remember a time....not too long ago, when I could...sometimes would, go to town every single day.   I would spend hours shopping, looking, running errands...etc. etc.

Just yesterday....I was in the big city, and I had several things that I wanted to do.   Not that I had to do them....I just wanted to.

I found myself saying...."that is really not important, I think I'll just go home!"  

I literally talked myself out of going to Walmart, Target, to get a pedicure and eating lunch in town.  Wow..I can't believe it!!

My life really is simple....I just think I'm ready to simplify it a little more....

You know what happens in April and sometimes in May?   PROM!

Way back a few months ago, I posted about the book I made for Tucker to ask Emily to the prom.   

Of course.....she said YES.

This past weekend was the PROM date.

Here are just a few pictures of the evening.

These photos were taken on my phone.....the ones from the camera are much clearer. 

Although it rained on Saturday, it let up enough for me to grab some pictures....

I always enjoy seeing ALL of the kids pictures from the prom.

Do ya'll see the cute little cafe in my header picture?  Oh my goodness....they have the BEST breakfast!   Grits, omelets, toast, beignets, and COFFEE!    I have eaten there 2 times in the past six weeks and I sure hope I get to go back again....SOON!!

Over the Easter weekend, our family visited Tyler and was able to spend three days, enjoying our visit with him and the area where he is located.  

Our accommodations were so nice!  Plenty of room for all of us...

Of course....Bowling is something I haven't done in YEARS.

do you see that score of 26?  That is mine!  My score did get a little better....like up to 33.   This was a family bowling event and we all had a blast.   The next day....I was pretty sore!

The kids had a wonderful time riding these go-carts!  I think we stood in line for about 45 minutes....just waiting for their turn.  

As you can probably tell....I took these pictures with my phone and they really did not turn out very clear.  

A good game of "Chicken foot" always brings lots of laughter to this group of folks.   They are all so competitive and determined to win.

This was our hostess at the Ihop.   Isn't she adorable?  

This place was very clean, but the service was not so great. 

I ordered unsweet tea and guess what....they were out!!!

I then ordered water and it came out after my pancakes!!

We had so much fun....the entire weekend.  Some of them went swimming and some got thrown into the pool.   And YES, the water was cold.  

I'm ready to go again!!
