Pecan Trees

 A view that I never get tired of looking at!!

Pads and Pads of growing Pecan Trees!

From pots filled with seedlings to one year trees or two year old pecan trees....this excites me!

Even the trees growing out in the fields (despite the weeds) are a beautiful sight. 

There is always interesting finds when driving in the fields at the Nursery.  

What looks like just a stack of buckets for more trees, is actually a temporary home to these ↓↓↓↓

Yep.....another litter of puppies.  It is so frustrating that people dump all the dogs that they DON"T want, down at the Nursery/farm.

This happens all the time and as of right now....there are at least 6 or 7 stray dogs roaming the fields.  And now....more puppies!

I love this view of the irrigation system watering the trees.  There are thousands of pecan trees growing in buckets on each of these pads.  

Some of them will be ready this fall, and the others will be ready in the next two years.  

Growing pecan trees is a three year process.

This 123 year old business was established by the W.H. Fair family, and then Sam's grandfather purchased this business. It has been in Sam's family for the past 82 years.  My husband (Sam) is the president of the company.  

While driving over a portion of the 649 acres on this one farm, this was part of the view yesterday....   ↓

We have had LOTS and LOTS of rain....

which has been great for the trees out in the fields.  

I never get tired of going to the Farm and looking at the Blessings God has given.  

This is the small building in town, just across the street from the main office and warehouses.

My two Favorites

I have these two pots sitting around my pool and I love everything about them.  

Have the little hummingbirds showed up at your feeders?  I have my feeders out, but I haven't seen any hummers yet.

Just made our reservations for our trip to California....

Wow....prices on hotels and rental cars are.... UP, UP, UP.  ↑↑↑↑↑

This is when you would like to have a Camper trailer to vacation in!!   California is a far distance from where we live....so, I am guessing it would cost quite a bit in GAS.

Speaking of camper trailers.....many of the small towns around us are being flooded by these new 

RV sites.  MANY people are living in trailers and these parks are offering a lot of amenities, plus paid utilities.  

Of course, the monthly fee to rent one of the camper lots, runs between $475.00 to $600.00 per month.  

The cost to rent or lease a home in our area is out of sight.....doubled in price from just a few years ago. 

Cost of living is so High!

Hope you all have some exciting plans for the weekend.   I think the weather man is predicting rain for us all weekend.  

For now.....I'm thinking Mexican food sure sounds good for dinner!! 😃

Running Behind

 Running Behind..........  WHY.    ↓↓↓↓

You know......some weeks are just a bit more full than other weeks, and this has been one busy week for me.  My mind and body, are just now on Monday, but yet, it is already Wednesday. 

 

for one thing......I have spent a lot of time in my flowers....(since we finally have some sunshine) AND as you can see from my header photo and the one above, my flowers are looking BEAUTIFUL.

What happens when you lose weight?  You can no longer wear the clothes in your closet!!!

I am not complaining about this at all.   I have dropped about 35  pounds and now my Spring/Summer clothes are all tooooooo Big for me!!

I spent one day this week shopping for clothes.  Hey, did you know that most all of the clothing stores are now stocked with these SHORT tops, which are not too flattering on older people???  

Seriously??

 I decided to try my luck on AMAZON...   I ordered 6 tops and I received them this morning.  This did not work!!!!  All of them are being RETURNED.  

Not only are they cheap looking, but the sizes are totally not what they are supposed to be.

Guess I need to learn to SEW.

On Monday......My Girlfriends and I....."The Gypsy Queens" had our monthly lunch date.  

This time, we went to "Bubba's" and we split appetizers.  We all ordered something  different and I will say....this was the way to go.   

When we get together, we are as happy as clams at high tide!!

  

Spicy Shrimp!!  Loaded Fries!! Spinach Dip!! and Garlic Knotts!!  Plus...we each had a salad.  

Delicious!!!!

These little lunch dates are so important and we usually spend about 2 hours just eating and catching up!!   Love my Friends.

Sam and I voted today!!  We have lived in our little "City with a Heart" for 52 years and actually......Sam has lived her for 71 years.  

Never, ever, has there been Any kind of issues with the mayor and City council of this small town......until now.

We have a newly elected Mayor and WOW .... there has been a lot of turmoil for the past 8 months or so.  

We also have a lot of new people that have moved here, and I'm guessing they must have come from BIG cities, cause the strife and demands are ridiculous.   The new mayor is also new to our town.  

Our little town has always been more like a "Hallmark" kind of town and I really prefer it to stay this way. 

Let me end with something Positive....
