Keeping Myself Busy...

Was able to snap a picture of my new hair cut..!!

I think I'm going to enjoy having it shorter.....

**********************************************

This has been a somewhat Lonely week.  Our family all left on Monday.....Shanda and her family left last Saturday to vacation at the Beach in Florida and Trista has been at a counselors conference in New Orleans since last Friday....Her husband is in Wisconsin working...  Everybody is gone doing their own thing and this is great...

How have I kept myself busy....?  Get this!!  I have a house cleaner coming today.  (First time I've had someone come in and clean my house in over 30 years.)  Well...I have been CLEANING  house all week long.   Sam made this comment: "The house cleaner is going to owe you for doing her job!!"

Do any of you do this??  Clean your house before someone comes to clean it?  I can't have someone thinking that I'm not a good housekeeper.  lol..

I prefer cleaning my own house, but the truth is...I need help with the deep cleaning. Can't believe I am admitting this.

Check out these adorable earrings....
Shanda has a new hobby this summer.....She has been making all kinds of Jewelry and truthfully, everything she has made is so cute. These are made out of clay....she designs them and then bakes them... Wa La...out comes a cute piece of jewelry..

The lemon earrings were specifically made to go with one of her sun dress she took with her to Florida....  They match perfectly...

She made all the ladies in our family a pair of July 4th earrings.  We were all decked out in red, white and blue...Earrings to match!!

Here are the ones I chose!!  Loved them!!

Lets see....what else has been happening??  We have had RAIN and lots of it!!  I am thanking the Lord for our much needed rain!!  South Texas is once again getting hammered with so much rain.  Prayers for everyones safety... Lots of flooding down in that area.

Wishing you all a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Kind of Day!!

  1. Shug- your haircut looks great- but you look different. I always clean before the cleaner comes- I even part wash the kitchen floor- It' ridiculous- I don't want the job to be too hard for her. Lol

  2. I love your hair. You look so YOUNG!!! Way too young to need a maid, but the time has come. that is funny that you clean for the maid. BUT, she is only for the deep cleaning, so I can see the logic in that. LOVE the earrings! Is she going to start selling them?

  3. Shug, you are such a cutie pie. Love your hair and those earrings are perfect for you.
I do know what you mean about that kind of lonely when the ones you love leave.
I'm so glad you had a great and busy time when they were here.
    Precious Memories.
    Prayers continuing

  5. The hair cut is adorable! I love, love, love it.
Ha - I always said I couldn't get a cleaner because I'd have to clean before they came. But I get it about the deep cleaning.

  6. I love your haircut. It's really cute, as are you anyway! And I wish I could have someone come do my deep cleaning too...(maybe even my not so deep cleaning!) I just don't have the strength in my back and arms anymore to do much hard housework, and Hubby just doesn't seem to get what I need to have done. To him it all looks fine. (he doesn't see dust and crumbs). I have really been thinking about this and praying that God will lead me to someone who is affordable and conscientious. Maybe once every other month to get started. We shall see what develops. Right now it is a silent prayer, but when I get really serious about it, I will pray it out loud for everyone to hear, including God! LOL. I love your earrings and those that your daughter made. I hope this quieter time will give you time to relax and just enjoy some peace and quiet for a little while. Sometimes we need that. We still haven't had enough rain to make a dent in our pond. It just seems to soak into the ground like a sponge. It's going to take some more consistent heavy rains to make a difference. We just don't want that "H" word.
Take care and God bless you all.

  7. How chic, your new 'do'!
Gosh, it's been 8+ years since I had a 'pro' come in and give our home a lick and polish. We were just about to put it on the market, and after Tom remarked he didn't remember it looking so good when it was freshly built! So far, we can keep up -- and I just ignore the Big Stuff.
    LOVE those earrings!

  8. What a cute haircut, Shug! You look so young in the pic! It will be easy for you to maintain. The earrings are delightful, and I especially like the fourth of July ones. My best friend used to be a housekeeper, and the only deep down cleaning I don't like to do is the shower. And maybe the baseboards hehehe. I hope all the family has safe travels. That is such a cute picture of you cleaning. Shanda's new hobby is wonderful. Jewelry making has always been a fun thing to do. And I love that you're getting so much rain. Those summer rains are magical. : )

  9. Love the hair, Shug! I totally hear you about cleaning the house before a cleaner comes over. Of course, my girls are my cleaners...hahaha! They're pretty picky about how things need to be before they start scrubbing!

  10. Really nice haircut, Shug, and the 4th of July earrings are very cute.

  11. Cleaning before the cleaner arrives - very familiar scenario. Now we don't have a cleaner . . . so,, no cleaning gets done.
Love the earrings - great fun.
The house feels so empty when everyone leaves, but the feeling passes.

  12. LOVE your haircut. It looks awesome on you.
I've never had a housekeeper come in but if I did I'm sure I would have to clean first. I think a lot of people do that.
Those earrings are adorable. That's one craft I have never tried before.

  13. I love your haircut, Shug! I really need to trim mine, too. And you definitely aren't the only one who "cleans" before the cleaning lady comes. We have a once-a-month service to help with the deep cleaning, too. It's no longer a want but a necessity and I'm so glad you have someone who can do that for you. Love those earrings! Blessings!

  15. Your hair looks fabulous!
How cool to have a cleaner coming! I've never had a cleaner but I think I would do the same, clean before they came. lol Good job to Shanda with the earrings, they're so cute! You can send some of that rain this way, it has been so dry here!

  18. We are having LOTS or rain and heat.
    I LOVE your haircut. Adorable.
And I love how you did that AI photo - so cute.
I can keep up with day-to-day cleaning but like you I could use help with the deep cleaning. Good for you.

  19. I have never had a house cleaner come, I can't stand having someone in the house for hours. also can't afford it. i do surface cleaning or used to, now even that suffers. unless you open drawers and cabinets the surface looks clean when its neat. everything in its place, but don't touch the frames on the pictures. ha ha... right now the kitchen floor needs mopping, headed tht way
