Happy Sunday, Sweet Friends. ☀️
What if, before asking God for anything today, we simply thanked Him for everything?
For the prayers He answered…
For the ones He lovingly said “not yet” to…
And even for the doors He closed that we didn’t understand at the time.
I posted on Friday about our Air Conditioning not cooling....... I was supposed to go to Dallas with Shanda and Mylee on a shopping trip that day, the very day the air quit cooling. I have no idea what God may have been protecting us from, but all day on the Thursday before, I had an uneasy feeling about us making this trip to Dallas. When I went to bed, I asked the Lord to give me peace about it or to close the door for us going.
Well....the air stopped cooling around 1:00 am and the very next morning we had to call for someone to come fix the air conditioning. Not only were we not able to go to Dallas (I needed to be here for the service guy) but, the air company worked us in that morning and my air was up and running before noon. I do believe this was a God thing.
Looking back, there have been many times when I have been disappointed… only to discover later that God was protecting me?
Sometimes our greatest blessings are the things that never happened.
As I begin this Sunday, I don’t want to focus on what I think I am missing. I'm going to Look around at what God has already placed in my hands.
A home, my family, friends, church, a sunrise, the birds singing early this morning, and His mercies that are new every morning..
It is wonderful to realize that gratitude has a beautiful way of turning “enough” into abundance.
I am already excited about the wonderful things that God is going to put before me today.
Have a blessed Sunday! ❤️

Shug....💛

What a special post filled with beautiful words, Shug. I do believe that we are shielded at times when we planned on going somewhere and then something suddenly comes up. God's protection is great and with perfect timing. Have a lovely and peaceful Sunday, Shug. And thank you for your dear posts that I get to enjoy each week.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog ending ... I wonder what God is going to put before me today?
ReplyDeleteLife has so many amazing twists and turns that I'm glad my hand is firmly placed in His.
Enjoy your Sunday and everything it is holding for you.
(((hugs)))

How wonderful about your A.C.!! God worked it all out for you!
ReplyDeleteI love and appreciate your worldview my friend. God is good!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of appreciating the little joys in life and imagining someone saying, “Do you like it? I made it just for you.” We are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteYes God is good and is ever present in our lives! Somethings just work out for the best...and we don't know why.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this all that is left to say is Amen.
ReplyDeleteThank you for a wonderful Christian post.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It really does make the rough times easier to deal with when you look at them from that perspective. It helps to just be thankful.
ReplyDeleteThere can never be enough reminders to be grateful....thank you for yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post Shug! If we start with being grateful, so much improves. And knowing that God's plan is best surely helps with that!
ReplyDeleteShug, you are absolutely right. I have had a couple of times I remember that I could not understand God's answer - then many, many years later I saw why. I am so glad that you were able to get your a/c working. Praying!
ReplyDeleteHi, You are so right, this happened to us in a big way last year. We were trying so hard to make something happen, it would NOT happen. No matter what. Finally, I surrendered, and it was not the time for this for us. I needed to listen, because now looking back, God was protecting us all along.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post.
So well said Shug!!
xo
It was most interesting to read how the Lord answered your concerns about making the trip to Dallas or not. You handled it all so very well. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
ReplyDeleteYou are so inspiring, my dear friend. I am glad you had the nudge from God to make the decision to stay. Thank you for this post. And so thankful your air got up and running!
ReplyDeleteI agree that listening for God nudges is the best way to go through life.
ReplyDeleteLove this so much dear Shug! And I agree fully. I have thanked God many times for unanswered prayers - when I thought I really wanted something, but He knew better for me. I’m so glad you were able to get your air fixed so quickly. Have a blessed week ahead! 💗
ReplyDeleteWe were just talking at study this morning about God's subtle messages! I tend to plow my way through life, sometimes like a stubborn ole mule, thinking I know what's good. What a blessing to know God's got a sense of humor and a truck-load of patience!
