One of the greatest blessings of this year was being able to take my trip to Ireland back in March. There are some places that leave fingerprints on your heart, and Ireland sure did on mine. The beauty of that land is hard to put into words. The rolling green countryside, the stone fences, the sheep dotting the hillsides, the little villages, and the peaceful quietness of it all felt like stepping into a storybook.
I can still remember looking out across the countryside and feeling such a deep sense of peace. Life seemed to slow down there. I can tell you that the air felt cleaner there and the people were very kind. Each and every winding road that we traveled seemed to lead to yet another breathtaking view. Such simplicity!! A feeling of Stillness!
what made this trip extra special was sharing it with my daughters and my youngest granddaughter. The memories are treasures that I will never forget. So much laughter, time for long conversations, taking so many pictures and really...just simply enjoying being together were things that made my heart swell.
If the opportunity ever came again, I would pack my bags tomorrow and go right back.
Today, my heart is thankful for beautiful places, precious family memories, safe travels, and the blessing of being able to experience a little piece of God's beautiful creation.

** I would certainly appreciate your prayers this morning. This time it's for me.. I will be seeing my cardiologist this morning for the second time in 3 weeks. He told me at my last visit that he most likely would be setting me up for a heart Cath... I will find out this morning what direction he plans to go...
🙏🏼

Praying for you and Sam this morning in Oregon . . .
ReplyDeleteYour prayers are truly appreciated.
DeleteI hope your appointment goes/went well and that the appropriate decisions can be made for the future.
ReplyDeleteI lived in Ireland for two years, and constantly marvelled at the very greenness of it all.
How neat to have had that experience of living there. It is a beautiful country and I was amazed with not only the green countryside, but how quickly the weather changes.
DeletePrayers lifted for you and for Sam, Shug. Please keep us posted!
ReplyDeletethank you Martha...I was kinds expecting that my cardiologist would want to do another cath...waiting on the date to be set.
DeleteThe pictures from you trip are so peaceful and lovely! It must have been such a precious time visiting Ireland with your girls! I pray you will heal and get better quickly and all will be well! God bless!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Blessing and God really worked out many things for us to all be able to take this trip.. Such a beautiful country.. Thank you for your prayers.
DeleteIreland looks so green and beautiful. And that little cottage with the ivy draping it is charming as ever. So glad you got a chance to take this trip to Ireland with your family. It's really one of the must see places, isn't it? I said a prayer for you, Shug, for answers and guidance on your appt. this morning.
ReplyDelete**two deer were just on my lawn as I looked out the window when I was visiting your blog. They told me to tell you, "hi." ; )
Awe...Hello back to the sweet deer...I love seeing them and watching their movements. I did so much enjoy seeing the thatch roofs and all of the greenery on the houses in Ireland. I appreciate your prayers so much...they mean a lot to me..
DeleteIreland is a place I would love to visit. So beautiful!
ReplyDeletePraying for you this today!
Mari...I hope you get the chance to visit this gorgeous land...Everything that I dreamed it would be. I am thankful for your prayers.
DeleteYour photos are stunning dear Shug! Ireland is definitely on my bucket list and your pics just reaffirm that. Sending out lots of prayers for good news dear Friend. 🙏🏻 Have a wonderful Mother's Day weekend ahead. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like spending time with family on vacation. No clocks to punch or meals to make, just lots of moments together! You're in my prayers today my friend. I hope all goes well. 🙏
ReplyDeleteOh yes prayers for you Shug as you go on your medical journey. Ireland is beautiful ...so green!
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry to hear this, Shug, but it’s something many of us may face someday. The bright side is that we live in a time with medical technology capable of detecting more serious issues early on. I’m praying for good news, and whatever the outcome, that it’s met with the grace only God can give.
ReplyDeleteI am praying about your heart cath! Prayers for discernment from good doctors and healing. Phil has had two of them. They really are considered the gold standard of diagnosis. They can see everything and hopefully fix it right at that time. I am glad you will be going to a large hospital, they always seem to have more resources and the better doctors. Especially if it is a teaching hospital.
ReplyDeleteShug, Ireland was gorgeous. I loved the last photo and the green grass with the walkway in the middle between two houses. Just so pretty and green.
ReplyDeleteNow, that I am having heart issues I am listening better. I have always prayed for the person, but it simply amazes me that there are so many heart issues. I mean how did he know you needed a cath? Do you have AFIB? How do the doctors know what to do? LOL The heart has to be a God thing if you know what I mean.
Better to have the cath than not to have it. Keep us updated of course and we all will continue to pray!
Praying for your heart! It sounds like Ireland did you a lot of good. Spend more time in your photos and breathe easy.
ReplyDeleteI felt my blood pressure going down as I looked at your serene photos.
ReplyDeleteMy the time I visited your blog your appointment had to be over but praying still . . . for a doctor with wisdom in all matters of the heart and that the good Lord will have you and the doctor cradled in His loving hands.
ReplyDeleteThe trip of a lifetime! Judging from mine and others' comments, maybe -- just maybe -- we could put together a group tour. And you, being an experienced traveler could lead us.
ReplyDeleteStill praying, girl. God is good!
Still praying for you and Sam. Thank you so much for the updates.
ReplyDeleteCheerful Monk
Your pictures from Ireland are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely keep you in my prayers. I have my heart cath scheduled for the 18th of this month.
Your pictures are absolutely amazing, Shug. They express such beauty and peacefulness . I will be praying for you as you go through this heart cath. What a beautiful testimony you are to God's faithfulness to His children. All that you are going through with Sam and now it's your own health that you are dealing with. Sending hugs, prayers and love your way, my friend. xx
ReplyDeleteShug, I am sorry to hear about your health situation. I'll be praying for you. Please take care of yourself. Being a caretaker to someone with major health issues is so hard on the caretaker and causes lots of stress. You and Sam are in my prayers. Hugs and lots of love to you :)
ReplyDeleteIreland is such a beautiful country! I always feel when I am out in the countryside life seems to slow down. Fantastic photos!
ReplyDeleteSending love and hugs, I hope your appointment with the cardiologist went well.
Praying for this even though the time is past. God knows your heart and He knows mine.
ReplyDeleteLove you
Sue
Each time I have visited Ireland was wonderful. I will always go back, given the opportunity.
