Sunshine on my shoulders....
Yesterday, the sunshine poured down and this morning it is doing the same. After a stretch of gray skies and gloomy days, the sun felt extra special.
I found myself sitting outside at a softball game, soaking it all in. I rolled up my jeans, let the sun warm my skin, and just sat there enjoying not only the game, but the very excitement of the sun rays.
Leaning Tree SourceI also was engaged in some healthy conversations with friends as we waited for the next batter to come up to the plate. And...it was so much fun listening to the teams doing their chants back and forth at each other.
Isn't it funny how something so simple can feel so healing? It can change your entire outlook and it honestly feels so good.
Source: Bonnie ChristyI totally enjoyed the sunshine as it was resting on my shoulders. It was a beautiful Saturday!

It sounds wonderful! I love your new header. Sitting in the sun with the hummingbird and coffee. I'm trying to see if those are flip flops!
Shug, there you are again, looking pretty and peaceful as ever sipping coffee on your front porch. I would love to have a hot cup of coffee right there with you and chat about so many things. So glad you are getting some sunshine after all that rain.
I wish you only the best May days, Shug.
Ah yes, "Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy....." As a former long-time Coloradoan, these words from John Denver make me smile.
Sunshine makes all the difference in my mood and outlook on life! Your post reminded me of going to my son's baseball games years ago!
we got rain yesterday, but full of sun today....
happy sunshine....
We need both the rain and sunshine, but after a week of gloomy skies, I was so happy to see the sun..
Mine too Jeanette. I think my serotonin levels get low when we have no sunshine for a few weeks. I love watching the kids play softball or baseball...always fun..
I actually looked that song up after the words came to my mind...I guess I had forgotten that this was a John Denver song. Sunshine does make me smile..
I enjoy making these photos...It would be nice for a group of us to gather on the porch and enjoy some good fellowship.. I would love that...
Those are not flip flops...I've got to buy some new ones for this year.
Dear Shug, we are supposed to get rain tonight here in Montreal. But both sunshine and rain are needed, and now the flowers are starting to bloom as well as the leaves on the trees, which is lovely to see!
The illustrations you are sharing are lovely, dear friend. They made me smile. Thank you so much for sharing.
I hope you have a wonder filled week ahead!
Sounds like the perfect day
Now I have that John Denver song in my head - love it! I love your header too
It sounds like you had a perfectly lovely day, sunshine, baseball, friends!
Oh Shug, I love your jeans, blouse and sandals - the whole outfit. Very attractive photo of you. I didn't know your hair was long. Very pretty.
Glad you had a nice sunshiny day. You deserve it.
I'm so glad. And I love your header! ❤️
Good source of vitamin D, too.
This was a cup full of sunshine to start our day! Thank you! I love your photo on the porch...what a beautiful scene! And yes, sitting with friends/family and watching the kids play ball is a sweet memory! I remember those happy days when our boys were young and we'd sit and cheer them on! Happy days that fly by too quickly! Praying for Sam and for you as you continue in this journey you are presently traveling. May the Lord bring many sunshiny days your way.
Praying for Sam and for you and family.
God bless.
I'm glad to read that Sam's doctor did allow him to go ahead with the treatment. Praying that he is more rested this morning (Monday) as I am sure he spent a lot of time sleeping and resting over the weekend. Thanks for keeping us updated.
And I am glad that you were able to get out on Saturday and enjoy some of that beautiful sunshine. xx
sunshine and warmth is one of the reasons we spend our winters in Florida. I do find it healing too.
What a lovely, sunny day you had, Shug! That song has always been a favorite of mine. Blessings!
You look gorgeous in your header photo!!!!!!!! So pretty. I read about Sam. Does he get nauseated too? So rough. I am so sorry. Hope you have another wonderful day today.
Sunshine is such a mood booster. It was grey and wet here yesterday but the sun is shining again today! It sounds like you had a lovely day!
Yes! I know this feeling too dear Friend. We had sun WITH WARMTH here in the northwoods over the weekend. It just recharges the batteries. We felt productive and got a lot done around our properties. So grateful for God's gifts! :)
We have sun today. Finally!
I'm singing right along with y'all (and John Denver). How about that one from Jesus Christ, Superstar ... 'Let the sunshine in, the SON-shine in.'!
Loving this cheery post, and all the cute pictures--especially the top "Good morning" one.
