Well...yesterday just about sent me back to the stone Age.
NO Wi-Fi
NO Cell service
NO Computer
NO TV
Just silence all around. Why is it that when you really need to make phone calls and you really need to be working on your computer, that service decides to fail you?
I was able to post my blog yesterday morning and then, everything went down hill. I have a lot of catching up to do today.
On Sunday afternoon....Sam and I took a slow ride down my favorite country road....
The trees were full and green, stretching overhead like an umbrella, filtering out the sunlight in many places.
The smell of honeysuckle drifting through the air seemed to be waiting on us to travel through. I do love the fragrance of fresh blooms on a honeysuckle vine. So sweet and a smell that you remember...
This little country drive was good for Sam....and for me!! We both enjoyed the quiet hum of the tires on the old asphalt road AND the beauty of the East Texas countryside doing what it does best....MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD INSIDE!
Today...absolutely nothing is on my calendar. Can you believe it? I'm already singing "Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day."
Things are blooming around here...and the pool area is beginning to look very inviting...
My "Peggy Martin" roses are beginning to bloom..
The plants are REALLY showing out!!
💛💛💛💛
Sending you all a Happy Hello and I'm sending you a bundle of love...
Shug...💛

Glad you were able to take that drive with Sam on Sunday. Your picture is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your Coleus that is pictured in the pot with other plants. That's something I have every year because that was something that my grandma loved and had every year...the same goes for Snapdragons.
Wow what a green thumb you have! Gorgeous. I love that country road. We have many roads up here and those are my favorite roads to travel. We don't lose power or internet that often but maybe a satilitte phone be worth your while. My son uses it for when he is out in remote places and now my husband wants one for " emergencies" even though, I know it's just one more toy in his toy box! 🙃 Of course it wouldn't help with the internet.
DeleteI hope you have a lovely day, enjoying the comforts of your beautiful home.
Happy Hello!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure surprised (AND humbled) at how dependent I've become on modern technology. Please ... take my right hand, but not my internet! (lol)
I do love the way in which you pivot. The Universe is so much better for you!
I love country drives. We used to do that a lot more than we do now. I'm glad you got that time, with no dr appts or chores to do. Everyone needs to find time to just relax!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, dear Shug! I am so glad you and Sam enjoyed a ride together!
ReplyDeleteShug, that country road does looks nice and inviting. So good that you and Sam got to take a drive for a bit and smell the honeysuckle all around you. I've been wanting to spend time in nature after a busy trip. Nature is something that grounds me, and I need it in my life. I love that photo you took of the country road, it's so peaceful and pretty. And your pool is looking very nice with the patio table and all the flower pots around the pool. Sometimes these slow days are the best ones, with nothing pressing on the calendar. You've had so many days going here and there for Sam's appts, and I'm sure this must have been a slice of goodness for you. You take such good care of him.....and he takes such good care of you. ; )
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty plants! A country drive we enjoy them also...it doesn't take much to entertain the elderly!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else, I am so glad you took that drive! And that you have a free day. ❤️
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating having all that go out. It's hard enough losing just one of those things but when it all goes, I tend to forget how to manage without it.
ReplyDeleteYour pool area is lovely. I could hang out at that table all day long.
Shug, our world feels so different when we can't "log on" to anything. It's also kind of nice, isn't it? David and I love taking the backroads and going on country drives. We always say that anything north of Jasper looks like Tennessee. We love the hills. And your pool looks so inviting :)
ReplyDelete'Everything in the garden is lovely' - that is so true for you. When all online devices have failed, all you can do is embrace the enforced peace and quiet, while hoping it doesn't last too long.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! No Wi-Fi is the thing of nightmares. lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful road to drive down, the trees are so pretty! Your pool does look very inviting! I would love backyard pools to be a thing here but sadly they're not!
Oh my - losing phone and internet really does throw us off! The road is so gorgeous, a perfect drive for you and Sam.
ReplyDeleteWe've a rainy, cold day. I am happy to see your photos.
ReplyDeleteWe often lose everything electronic in storms!
I agree - have you ever noticed the eerie quiet when all the services go off? I never realized How much noise pollution there is in the house and the world.
ReplyDeleteThe drive you and Sam went on was perfect. And your pool is so inviting with all the beautiful flowers.
Good luck tomorrow - give us an update! Hugs and prayers.
