A Lion and A Lamb Hodgepodge
Joyce Asks the Questions
We Answer the Questions.
1. As the saying goes, 'March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb.' Did your March come in roaring or like some other animal? Every month carries with it certain feelings, which is why some people love and anticipate December and others dread it. How do you feel about the month of March?
March around here came in very gentle. (Thank Goodness)
March always feels like a doorway month to me. The opening of Spring and all the beauty it brings. As March stretches towards Spring, I feel an abundance of Hope....like God is unfolding things we have not seen yet.
2. Where in your life are you a lion? Where are you a lamb?
I am a Lion when it comes to family and I am a lion when it comes to my Faith.
I am a Lamb when it comes to seeing people hurt or when I see others needing compassion and some encouragement in life.
Strength and gentleness can live in the same heart....And I am thankful that they do!!
3. The Hodgepodge lands on National Pound Cake day. Do you like pound cake? If so do you have a favorite flavor? Let's play this or that-
I do love poundcake and I miss my Mom's all time favorite poundcake with a drizzle of icing.
Plain poundcake or strawberry poundcake
- pound cake or layer cake? *Layered Cake 🍓
- pound cake or cheesecake? * Cheesecake. 🍓
- pound cake or angel food cake? *Pound Cake.
- pound cake or brownie? * Pound Cake
- pound cake or pie? * Pie
4. What makes you feel childlike wonder right now?
Sunrises!! Watching the sky slowly change colors reminds me that God still paints every single morning...and HE never repeats Himself.
Also....Having my grandchildren what through my back door.
And....Flowers beginning to bloom...🌸
5. What's one thing you need to add to your wardrobe to get ready for spring? If you're in the southern hemisphere, then answer for fall?
I wish I could say an Easter Bonnet! No, for real, I need to add more flip flops....That's about it.
My closet is SO full right now.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Shug...

I so agree about your last thought - do more of what makes you happy. I'll drink to that - but not in Lent. I can always catch up later.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Absolutely Victor. We need to do what makes us happy and share our joy with others.
DeleteI loved your #2 and your #4.
ReplyDeleteI had to smile about an Easter Bonnet, I would love to buy one too. It also made me think of the song by Bing Crosby, Easter Parade.
Girl...I've been singing "Put on your Easter Bonnet" all morning. I think they are so cute...
DeleteStrength and gentleness can certainly coexist in the same person, Shug. After all, Jesus is the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God, is He not? Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteSo true Martha... I think it's meant for us to have a little of each and to use them wisely.
DeleteI'm right there with you on sunrises, Shug!
ReplyDeleteGrinning about the Easter bonnet! My dad used to encourage mother and I to wear hats to church. Years later when we first moved here, I wore a hat to church on Easter morning and man, you should have seen the stares!!! The next year think there were a dozen or more ladies wearing hats. Ha!
My sister and I along with my first (girl) cousins wore them every Easter. I think hats are so cute . You started something new in that church with your hat.
DeleteI envy your early Spring. March came in windy so I suppose that was the lion! March can be a horribly cold and stormy month up here. We hardly ever have cake.
ReplyDeleteI sure wish I could send you some Spring...our temps today are in the upper 70's. We've already had to have the lawn mowed two times.
DeleteWe can be lions and lambs - the wisdom lies in knowing which one to be on any occasion.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right...and this wisdom is so important....it can get us in some big time trouble if we are lions too harshly.
DeleteMarch came in like a lion here - cold and windy. But as you said it's the gateway to Spring so hopefully it will be a lamb soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a pound cake person - I think I choose the other for all of them. :)
Have a great day, Mari
Sure hoping your Spring shows up soon. Honestly, I prefer pies and cookies but pound cake with real whipped cream and strawberries is good too.
DeleteThe beginning of the month was beautiful. Now I am gritting my teeth to get through several days of rain and raw weather. At least it's not snow!
ReplyDeleteTrue Kathy..at least it's not snow. We have huge storms coming in this evening...not sure what to expect..
DeleteMarch came in pretty gently for us out here on the west coast. It makes me look forward to lighter evenings and warm, coat-less days.
ReplyDeleteI do like pound cake but its not my go to choice ... now give me cheese cake or lemon meringue pie now that's yummy.
I am Mama Bear when it comes to my kids and family in general. Don't mess with them !!
Since the weather is so nice at the moment I am enjoying all the little "flitter" birds poking around in the bushes and trees. This morning I saw a tiny woodpecker (Downy) I think but it didn't stay around long enough for me to snap a picture of it. It was like a God Wink for me today.
Love your random thought. Its the positive push for today.
Love you my friend and prayers continuing for Sam and for you too.
Sue
You are the Flip-Flop Queen! Some day it would be fun to post all of them, I bet you have real fancy ones along with the plain ones.
ReplyDeleteI always love your thoughts on these posts. I relate so well and am a total Lion (Mamabear) when it comes to my kiddos. And also when it comes to my Lord! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you love flip-flops Lady. It just makes me smile. The only area I couldn't relate is picking pound cake over a brownie. Lol 😂 Blessings to you xo
I love your answer for #1, it does feel like a doorway month. Sunrises are so wonderful aren't they!
ReplyDeleteYou need more flip flops? LOL I am a lion for God and family too. I love that you like sunrises and your grandchildren coming right on it! Praying for you and Sam.
ReplyDeleteMarch is in like a lamb for us and I am cheese cake all the way :)
ReplyDeleteWe had snow on March 1st so I consider that coming like a lion. I totally agree with do more of what makes you happy
ReplyDeleteI felt like a lion today. I managed all I had to do. My PA being ill!
ReplyDeleteIt was gorgeous here and has been all of March with the exception of one overnight rain. I wish I could have a piece of my grandmother's pound cake. It was perfect.
ReplyDelete"Do more of what makes you happy." Amen to that! ❤️
ReplyDeleteFlip flops -- the basic footwear in this house!
ReplyDeleteMarch came in like a lamb with 70 degree weather and lots of sunshine. I'm a lamb, I love to live in peace with others. I love all pound cakes. What I want for spring? Flowers and sunshine. Blessings to you.
ReplyDeleteYou would ROCK an Easter bonnet. This I know for sure! 🐰
