Thankful Thursday in Boots

Happy Thankful Thursday!!

This old photo popped up just in time for me to think about the things I am thankful for....

I LOVE old cowboy boots and these boots that are sitting in the Texas grass belong to our youngest grandson.  If they could talk, they  certainly could tell some stories.  Chasing pigs, stomping in mud puddles and maybe doing a "Two Step" from time to time.
I am thankful for cowboy boots and for all that they represent.  Grit, adventure and personality!!

I know....a weird post for a Thankful Thursday, but a pair of boots means a great heritage from our Texas roots and they mean leaving a legacy of watching generation after generation walking forward with the Lord.
Much to be thankful for!

Shug.....

    1. I have read that poem and you can definitely define the sound of a boot. I can't imagine hearing a full military of pounding boots. Wishing you a Thankful Thursday.

  4. Great picture, especially because they belonged to your grandson. I'm not a boot wearer, but we have the sweetest family in our church with 4 kids. The youngest is a girl who just turned one and all those kids wear boots - it's the sweetest!

    1. Yes...I think every Texas owns a pair of boots...ladies as well.. These boots have been well worn. Trey is a big hunter and there is no telling how many steps this single pair of boot made at the farm.

  7. I really liked how you recognize that those "cowboy boots" could tell some stories. It's an interesting way to look at so many of our possessions and think about their contribution to our lives. Shug- I always love your posts. Have a great week.

My county is a ranching and farming area, rodeos etc so many wear boots. I love them! I appreciate the sentiment.

  14. This is a perfect Thankful Thursday post. I adore those boots and the stories they could tell. I always wanted cowboy boots from a very early age but sadly never got any.
Will definitely keep Sam and you in my prayers. I pray that the Doctors can get his blood sugar under control and that his energy can return. So glad you went t the doctor and got meds for your cough and congestion. Praying this time of rest will recharge you and .... you know you really can't burn the candle at both ends to be at the top of your game.
    Love you Sister ....

    1. definitely appreciate the prayers. I think for me, my system is just run down more so that I thought and stress can do this. My dad was a big tall cowboy man...wore a hat and all the western gear. I grew up in the cowboy world. lol. My Sam is totally the opposite...he's not a fan of anything western style. So funny. love you too..

  16. I guess boots are pretty much iconic in Texas. A photo of boots makes some people automatically think of Texas. Quite a few people here wear boots. And of course we have that big new Boot Barn. That steroid shot ought to make you feel dandy. I always get the entire house cleaned when I am on steroids.
