Spring Is In The Air...Or Is It?

Spring is doing a good job at flirting with us...

The daffodils have shown up and are being spotted all around town.  We also have Tulip trees blooming in the area...  Last evening....I snapped a few pictures from Shanda's Tulip Tree.

Just look at the blooms against the grey bark..Beautiful

I walked outside this morning fully expecting birds to be singing but to my surprise, what I heard was silence.  A heavy fog draped across the yard and the bare trees are standing very still and unbothered.

No leaves, no buds....just branches stretching up to the sky.  The morning feels very quiet.... It feels like even the birds have decided it's just a touch too early to start rehearsing their sunrise symphony..

All of this brought me thoughts of how.... just like having flowers and fog at the same time, we also have promises and patience sharing the same space in our ordinary daily living.

There are definitely signs that roots are strengthening and the sap is rising, which tells me this isn't confusion.  It's more like a choreography preparing for a big show.

The daffodils blooming while the fog lingers...The tulip trees stretching open while bare branches still stand...

These are not mixed signals.   It's called Timing!!

Happy Monday Y'all...

  1. Oh I can't wait for a few bloom - or sign of spring - around here. Will probably another few weeks but your photos remind me that they will indeed come! Happy Monday to you!

  2. What a gorgeous color on that tulip tree. I used to love spring when we saw our first crocuses and tulips. Of course it was usually not until at least March in Pennsylvania, Here is Florida we had a very short winter of about 3 weeks of cold weather and now we are back at the beach with 79 degree weather,

  3. What a special post today, dear Shug. I love the analogy that you used because it's so true. Isn't it just the way the Father deals with us? Even though life's trials seem to make things dark, the roots of our faith are being strengthened and in time we come through to the light.
I'm so sorry that Sam had such a rough weekend. Prayers continue for the both of you. xx

  4. Hello,
I am praying for Sam. And for you!
I love the tulip tree. The flowers come before the green? Do they bloom for a long time?
Thank you for sharing the daffodils.

  5. Your daffodils are starting to bloom! No signs of flowers opening quite yet here. We are still very much in winter. I love the color of Shanda's tulip tree, it's really striking. And your foggy morning is beautiful. It is so mysterious to me, and it's nice when you look out your window and see fog all around. Your words about promises and patience are so special, Shug. This was a wonderful post to start off my week, thank you. : )

  7. Those purple blooms against the gray tree bark really are beautiful. It’s interesting to see how our Creator puts colors together. Fog, I like it except for when I need to drive in it.

I pray today, and this week, are better for you and Sam.

  9. I love the color of the tulip tree blooms! Isn't it strange that it is always so quiet in the fog? We have no Daffodils yet, or any other kind of flower for that matter. Except for a few Persian speedwell, so tiny that you can hardly see them.

  10. Love the message and the photos my Friend! We have extra patience here up north as we wait for that timing to come months from now. Lol 😂 But always well worth the wait. We embrace the extra cozy time and internal reflection...which is lovely too. Blessings on your week Shug 💗
