THE FIRST FULL WEEK...

The glitter on my floor is almost gone, but no matter how many times I sweep, I still catch a few shining pieces in my vision as I walk through our living area.

The New year is actually happening now!  Welcome to the first full week of the year and I can hear it shouting...."Okay dear Shug, let's begin."  Let's get back into the daily routines of doing laundry, cleaning bathrooms and being in the kitchen.

Wait....wasn't I just in the kitchen for what seemed like a month and half? It's back to cooking normal meals!

I'm looking forward to the small wins this week....things like drinking more water and putting the sodas away....Drinking water on purpose! AND the biggest win will be remembering WHAT DAY IT IS.  MY days have been everywhere on the calendar.  Is it Wednesday? Is it the weekend yet?  Lately, I've had to ask myself these questions over and over again.

This week though...it thinks it's in charge! It wants structure and I sure hope I'm ready to deliver.

I'm up for the challenge and plan to make the best of it.

HAPPY MONDAY!!!

SHUG....💛

  1. Love that coffee picture and quote, Shug. I'm with you on drinking more water. But the laundry I usually do every day, so I don't see that changing much haha. Have a splendid new week in January, and here's to getting things back to normal for you. You've been tackling many hard days, so I hope the days and weeks ahead will be more gentle to you, dear Shug. : )

  3. I laughed at your comment about remembering what day it is - I've been having th same issue.
Yes to the glitter too, it just hangs around. It's good to be back into a routine.
I caught up on your Sam update, prayers continue!

  4. Hello my dear friend, you are right, it takes awhile to get back into it. My husband as enjoyed several days off from work, we enjoyed having our boys here for the weekend. It all can get a little too quite after all the fun, making me a bit sad.
Praying for all to be well and safe.

  5. I wish I had 1000 dollars for each time I look at my phone to see what DAY it is, or DATE, I could buy a new car cash... I cook only what is needed to keep us alive and as little as possible. I feel like I live in your laundry graphic. by the week end that is coming very fast, it will be 10 days of January gone.. the weeks are flying by

  6. Amen to keeping track of what day it is. That’s why most of our clocks are atomic and tell us the day of the week in addition to the time and date. We need all the help we can get. 😊❤️

  7. I've no doubt you've got this week in a wrap, Shug. (But wait -- am I supposed to clean bathrooms every day?!? lol)
I think the only reason I know today's Monday, we had Bible study resume this morning. This calendar confusion is fine once in a while, but I much prefer predictability in my days. Old stick-in-the-mud, aren't I?

  8. I love the Grandma's House photo! Grandma would have to be pretty spunky to bake all of those things. And I'm wondering which laundry style you are. Seeing some glitter here and there always makes me smile, so I like leaving just a bit of it around!

  10. You are in good company with ALL that you've said here. For my part, nearly every day I have to think just a little harder to remember which day this is. After that, things tend to fall into place as they should!

  11. We don't have glitter, but I can say the same thing about the artificial tree needles! No matter how many times I pick them up there will be more for the next couple of weeks.

  13. Sometimes I can't remember what day it is either - but I push myself forward. My grandson broke an egg with glitter in it about two years ago and I just found a star from it a couple days ago. Shug, who wants a routine anyway?

  14. Can you believe that sometimes I depend on the regularity of certain beloved folks blogging to recall what day of the week it is? I have dear friends that post on Tuesday and Thursday only, and one on Friday. At this point in time, I don't know what I'd do without them. And don't worry about the glitter; simply let it be a shining reminder of the light of Jesus. Blessings, Shug!

  15. Shug, same on the not remembering what day we're on. I think this week might help to get us back on track :)

  16. Hello!!!! I literally just said today that the soda is done! And the water returns! And, yes to cooking regular meals again. Taco Tuesday tonight! Happy and Blessed New Year, my friend!

  17. I am setting a goal for myself too in drinking more water. I don't drink soda often, but sweet tea and coffee are my go-to drinks.

  18. I'm still trying to get back in a routine. I think that's going to happen slowly around here this year. It will happen though.
