This winter morning is about as simple as it gets. The sky is gray and heavy right now...it does have a layer of sleet falling and it is gently tapping against our bedroom window.
One thing that I do love is that there is NO rush to be anywhere. Along with the soft tap of the sleet, I can hear a gentle humming coming from our fireplace.
Our oldest daughter (Trista) came over to stay with us for the weekend. She lives further out in the country and her husband is on a job out of town, so rather than to be home alone through this winter mix, she thought it best to come stay here. YAY!! I'm so glad she did.
This area is cold and unsettled outside, but oh how I'm enjoying the warmth from inside our cozy home. I have Chili in the freezer, a crockpot full of Beef Stew, meatloaf in the refrigerator and my pantry is completely stocked. And for sure...I have milk and bread!! LOL.
When the path ahead feels uncertain, God invites us to trust His timing rather than rush His plan. A little sleet doesn't cancel the promise of spring. The cold sleet... and possibly snow, simply prepares the ground for a beautiful spring.
As the sleet continues to fall, I want to keep in mind that God covers every season of my life. Nothing reaches us without first passing through His hands. Even on simple, gray mornings, His presence brings a warmth that weather cannot touch.
Y'all....I'm still very excited about the cold temps and the wish for some white fluff.
I'm asking for Blessings to fall upon each of you.
Shug... ⛄

Enjoy the downtime with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much....We are having the best time..
DeleteI love your positive attitude toward everything, Shug. That is a true blessing to be able to do that. I am so happy one of your daughters is there, too! Double blessings! Stay warm and cozy through the sleet and possible snow!
ReplyDeleteI was so glad Trista decided to come here rather than to stay out in the country by herself. Makes me feel so much better.
DeleteThank you for the lovely reminders.
ReplyDeleteSpring will come and the Lord covers every season.
We are awaiting stormy weather that's coming in this evening...but I have a hankering for sunshine and Spring flowers. Patience:)
Have a blessed Saturday.

I've always to go to Virginia...still on my bucket list. I dream of Spring flowers...
DeleteOh I can relate! We're waiting for a storm that's supposed to dump almost 2 feet of snow on us. I'm not excited. Plus the temps are below zero with the wind chills, but your words of faith do make things a little easier and keeps them in perspective. Thanks for sharing them on this chilly winter day and enjoy your daughter's visit!
ReplyDeleteso many people across the US are getting this winter storm. Y'all stay warm and super safe..
DeleteWell, first, your header is stunning! the contrast of the two pastel colors in nature is so beautiful. So glad you have Trista, she made a good decision! Is this your pantry? It is amazing! We used to have a pantry where we used to live, and I miss having one so much. We are expecting a horrible snow and ice storm starting this evening and have no alternate heat source. I would really appreciate your prayers for us, Shug! Your post has helped me to feel a bit better, but I am still stressed out about it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny... Yes, we had this pantry put in a few years ago. I had an extra hall way coming out of my kitchen.. We never used it, so we had the pantry put in. I love it. Prayers for you all Ginny...I know y'all are expected to be hard with the winter snow and ice. Keeping y'all covered in prayers.
DeletePraises that the Lord covers every season of our lives. Its so reassuring to me.
ReplyDeleteI love that collage photo with the muted neutral palette. Your posts are pure artistry.
Have a delightful day.
Sue
Thank you Sue. you are always so encouraging to me. We have more ice coming this evening...hope the roads don't turn bad...
DeleteWhat a blessing to have this time with Trista! We don't get that kind of time with our adult kids too often and I know you'll enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. You are making lemonade out of lemons! And I must admit that I am jealous of that pantry. :)
Trista's husband works out of state....and her kids all live away. I was happy that she wanted to come stay here. She is finishing her masters degree and during storms, her wifi doesn't work well. So glad she could come stay with us.
DeleteOur son has come to stay with us during this snowstorm, as his rental house doesn't have the best heat :( We are enjoying his company and, like you, I have all the same foods ready to go! Stay safe and warm!
ReplyDeleteAwe. I know that you all are so happy to have him there. Makes us happy doesn't it? Looks like y'all are going to get a big portion of the winter storm...stay safe.
DeleteI am also excited for the next couple of days. I have nowhere to go and nothing on my calendar that has to be done.
ReplyDeleteThe best kind of days.... love them.
DeleteI love your attitude. I bet your home feels, so good and peaceful people love going there. It just feels so gentle and peaceful. Glad you have all the supplies. We are waiting to get the ice. We have no idea how much. I am glad your daughter is with you!
ReplyDeleteI honestly try to keep the pantry stocked. So many times my girls will come in from their school jobs and they are tired. They sometimes raid my pantry so that they don't have to go to the grocery store. Glad that they can.
DeleteI am glad that your daughter was able to visit during this ridiculous snow and cold. I pray that you are all safe throughout it. I love that my pantry is stocked as well and I really did not need anything except for milk.
ReplyDeleteYou are such a blessing. I love how you embrace whatever God gives you and you set out to enjoy it! Glad that Trista is there with you for the weekend! Stay warm and cozy.
