Simple As It Gets

This winter morning is about as simple as it gets.  The sky is gray and heavy right now...it does have a layer of sleet falling and it is gently tapping against our bedroom window.

One thing that I do love is that there is NO rush to be anywhere.  Along with the soft tap of the sleet, I can hear a gentle humming coming from our fireplace.

Our oldest daughter (Trista) came over to stay with us for the weekend.  She lives further out in the country and her husband is on a job out of town, so rather than to be home alone through this winter mix, she thought it best to come stay here.  YAY!!  I'm so glad she did.

This area is cold and unsettled outside, but oh how I'm enjoying the warmth from inside our cozy home.  I have Chili in the freezer, a crockpot full of Beef Stew, meatloaf in the refrigerator and my pantry is completely stocked.  And for sure...I have milk and bread!!  LOL.

When the path ahead feels uncertain, God invites us to trust His timing rather than rush His plan. A little sleet doesn't cancel the promise of spring.  The cold sleet... and possibly snow, simply prepares the ground for a beautiful spring.

As the sleet continues to fall, I want to keep in mind that God covers every season of my life.  Nothing reaches us without first passing through His hands.  Even on simple, gray mornings, His presence brings a warmth that weather cannot touch.

Y'all....I'm still very excited about the cold temps and the wish for some white fluff.

I'm asking for Blessings to fall upon each of you.

Shug... ⛄

  1. I love your positive attitude toward everything, Shug. That is a true blessing to be able to do that. I am so happy one of your daughters is there, too! Double blessings! Stay warm and cozy through the sleet and possible snow!

  2. Thank you for the lovely reminders.
Spring will come and the Lord covers every season.
We are awaiting stormy weather that's coming in this evening...but I have a hankering for sunshine and Spring flowers. Patience:)
    Have a blessed Saturday.

  3. Oh I can relate! We're waiting for a storm that's supposed to dump almost 2 feet of snow on us. I'm not excited. Plus the temps are below zero with the wind chills, but your words of faith do make things a little easier and keeps them in perspective. Thanks for sharing them on this chilly winter day and enjoy your daughter's visit!

  4. Well, first, your header is stunning! the contrast of the two pastel colors in nature is so beautiful. So glad you have Trista, she made a good decision! Is this your pantry? It is amazing! We used to have a pantry where we used to live, and I miss having one so much. We are expecting a horrible snow and ice storm starting this evening and have no alternate heat source. I would really appreciate your prayers for us, Shug! Your post has helped me to feel a bit better, but I am still stressed out about it.
