1. What kind of winter person are you-snow lover, fireplace snuggler, winter adventurer, or indoor hibernator? Elaborate.
I would be a snow-lover if we lived in an area where there was snow. We rarely get snow but when we do....I LOVE it. I would also be a winter adventurer if we had a cold winter.
2. The Pantone color of the year is cloud dancer, described as a gentle, billowy off white shade. The color symbolizes 'peace, clarity, quiet reflection, renewal, and a soft reset'. Of the terms just listed which do you need most in your life this winter?
Out of these words, I would choose quiet reflection for me. I think my soul is tired of the constant noise in life. The media!! The constant complaining from people!! The entitlement era.
3. Every cloud has a silver lining, on cloud nine, head in the clouds, storm clouds gathering, or cloud of suspicion...which 'cloud' idiom do you most relate to currently? Explain.
Hmmm... I think "Every cloud has a silver lining." Why? Because I am choosing to believe that even hard moments carry hidden purposes. This reflects hope. I like the idea of thinking that a struggle is never wasted and that something good can emerge from difficulty. Look beyond the storm and trust that the light is still present.....EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD TO SEE!
4. coconut, cauliflower, cottage cheese, mayonnaise, onions, ranch dressing...of the white foods listed, which would be the hardest for you to give up? Do you like all or any of the foods on the list?
I don't do mayonnaise and I for sure don't do onions. Cauliflower I could do without and coconut is not a fav. Cottage Cheese I suppose. Only if I have cottage cheese with fruit.
5. Thomas Wentworth Higginson is credited with this quote-
"How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year."
Agree or disagree? Tell us why.
I agree with this quote because winter, both in nature and in life, teaches lessons that other seasons simply cannot teach us. I think that Winter slows us down and invites reflection into our lives. Don't you think that without winter we might would miss the beauty of endurance?

Thank you Lord for an answered prayer.
"You have not because you ask not"
James 4:2
This very verse came to my mind yesterday morning around 3:00 am.
I was praying for a specific need for my granddaughter. She was facing a very hard Test yesterday morning that she needed to pass. I prayed not out of fear, but out of faith, believing that God cares about EVERY detail of her life....even a single test on an everyday morning.
Whether the answer comes exactly as we hope or if it comes in a way we don't expect, I know this....God hears when we ask.
** Tori called me around noon yesterday crying...these were happy tears...She PASSED the test!!
Thank you Lord!!
Sending hugs to everyone:
Shug..♡

I too feel exhausted by the noise and the constant complaining, often when people don't even know or understand what it is they're complaining about. I limit the news and social media for this very reason. I hope your granddaughter's test went well and she felt the peace of her grandmother's prayers. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYeah for prayers answered! I don’t eat cottage cheese at all.
ReplyDeleteHello my friend, oh you had me on your #2. I had to take a major step away from the media. I cannot take it. I listen to a short news update in the morning that is in a podcast format, just so I know some of what is going on.
ReplyDeleteAnd as far as entitlement, that too is getting to be ridiculous. Thank you so much for sharing your heart.
Love and prayers,
Carla
I especially loved your answer to number 2, Shug. And your answer to number 5 is wonderful. I can see you being a snow lover if you had the snow. Some people don't like it, and some people love it. There's nothing quite magical than opening up your window in the morning and seeing a blanket of white fluff all around the neighborhood. So glad to hear Tori passed her test. And I like the James verse, thank you for sharing it today. Have a blessed rest of the week, Shug.
ReplyDeleteWe used to get snow here and lots of it but over the last 5 years or so there hasn't been much. This year all we've had is a sprinkling which was just life a thick frost. Hmmf.
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic news that your granddaughter passed the test.
I have never lived in a home that did not have a jar of mayo in the fridge and one in the cabinet... I love it on everything, 5 years ago I changed from regular to Vegan Mayo and love it too. I had to give up REAL mayo because of tummy issues. I put the vegan on everything. even pineapple/mayo sandwiches...
ReplyDeleteThe only lessons we learn from winter in Florida is, stay off the roads, the winter residents are here and will not go home until Easter... I love our winters and when I was 12 I loved snow, now I am so happy to be here with my kitchen that I just mopped glowing in sunshine... I still learn lessons from Florida winter. Stay home, the same as those who are trapped indoors by snow and cold temps. although I have been on the beaches in January and loved it, but that was years ago
At my age, I am content to be home most of the time... but only if the internet is working
I'm exhausted by the entitlement and whining of others as well. I am not a fan of winter anymore, but I love to watch it snow.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how God hears and answers our prayers? I'm so glad to know that all turned out so well for Tori! I do treasure the peace and quiet of home, too. Blessings, Shug!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Tori! Yayyyy!!!!! :-) Love, Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteHey Shug! Have you ever tried the egg-free mayos or is it mayo in general? I made homemade mayo before and that's great fun. We can make it they way we want. That said, I get it. I have a close friend who also can't do mayo. Wishing you and Sam a wonderful rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteHooray for Tori!
ReplyDeleteThese were interesting questions, and I liked what you answered. I do think there is something wrong with you in not liking mayo. I'm a big fan. I don't like coconut though!
Praise for the answered prayer. Quiet is so much better than complaining or yelling. I liked your answer to number 5 and how you interpreted it. Enjoy your Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely and inspirational post. I loved reading your answers to these meaningful questions. Thanks.
ReplyDeletePrayers certainly work wonders! I love your crystal ball filled bowl! I do agree that even hard moments have some kind of purpose.
