Black Friday Hustle and Bustle

Are you one of the millions who shops Black Friday?  This big day is coming up...like, this coming FRIDAY.

Ahhh, Black Friday!  Better known as the unofficial kickoff to the Holiday season.  I read a meme the other day that said: "Some people train for marathons.  Some train for Black Friday."

A few years ago, I was one of those who was in the best shape for shopping black Friday.  My feet may have thought otherwise, but my determination was real.  I had my apps, my map planned out for which stores to go to first, had the  stamina I needed, a donut in one hand and coffee in the other.  LOL

My girls and I were on a roll and nothing was going to stop us.  We would hit the road at 4:00 AM and not get home until around 9:00 that evening. Was it fun?  We had a blast.

Well....things have changed now days.

What changed was ME!  I find it kinda nice to be able to shop in my PJ's, messy hair and all. I have learned that I can scroll the internet while enjoying the comforts of my own bed.  I don't get caught up in the "Bargain Sales" and 😇 I stay out of trouble.

Thoughts on black Friday...

This coming Friday will be chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly fun for many people.... not me this year.

But, if you are one that enjoys this big day,  remember to stick to your budget and don't let sales hypes make you lose your mind.

The best deals are not worth your peace, so make a Black Friday Checklist and be patient in those check out lines.

And...and...Be safe!!

  1. My sister and I used to love Black Friday, but things have changed. In our area, the sales seem to start before Thanksgiving and the deals on Friday aren't as good. We sure used to have fun!

    1. It's getting that way here as well. I just try to be very cautious with all the sale ads.

  3. When my sons were younger, my sister and I would hit the stores leaing the house at 3:30 am. Instead of the Christmas themed clothes I wore a lime green jacket and she wore a canary yellow one, so we could easily spot each other. One of us would stand in line while the other snagged the items. We could cover 5 different stores, end up at the mall for the last one and be in the food court having coffee by 9. We called it guerilla shopping. It was fun at the time, but I like the lazy Fridays now.

  4. I have friends - two sisters - that were actually written up in the paper - they start shopping right after Thanksgiving and spend about 19 hours shopping straight.

  6. I have only shopped on Black Friday One Time, my 13 year old granddaughter wanted a bracelet from Sears that was on sale on black Friday, I got there at 5 am and tried to walk to the jewelry counter and there were so many people I walked out and she did not get the bracelet. now you could order it. that was my only Black Friday shopping, but I have just spent the Early Black Friday sales from Walmart and Amazon, as members we got early access last night at midnight, but everytime I find what I want its not what I really want. I am looking for a cheap Chromebook, mine is about to bite the dust. battery and its almost 5 years old and acting funny. the ones that are CHEAP have no touchscreen. my eyes are hurting from searching and I bought nothing.
I have never liked shopping and shop with a list and all I look at is what is on the list. I shop alone. even groceries I park the basket at the end of the aisle race down it grab what's on the list and back and forth. I don't even look at other stuff. I am my daddy's apple that fell of the tree just like him. cheap to the bone, squeeze every dime

  7. I’m afraid not. I’ve never liked crowds so our holiday season has always been low-key. When we sent gifts to Kaitlin’s cousins when they were all little, I would put on Christmas music in late October and bake cookies while she decorated tissue wrapping paper with Christmas stencils. Then we would send the presents by Thanksgiving weekend and avoid stores as much as possible until Christmas was over. There were just the three of us, but she still thinks fondly of our holidays.so do I. ❤️

  8. Oh my gosh, I don't even know where to start about this day of chaos haha. No deals are that important to me for getting up and standing in line at 4:00 in the morning. I hear that people even stand in line the night before to be the first ones at the door. If one goes with family and makes it a fun time, I understand that. But I've heard of people getting trampled and hurt out there on that day. I love that shopping picture - you find the most delightful pictures to go along with your words, Shug. Here's to no one getting trampled this Black Friday.
