Thankful Thursday is here and just like most of you, I am so thankful for the season of Fall. ๐
Lets start with the obvious blessings of the season: Warm drinks that practically make you feel like you've achieved something important, just by holding them. Coffee, cider, hot cocoa ..... even hot tea suddenly feels fancier when the leaves all begin to fall. Add a splash of caramel, a swirl of whipped cream, and suddenly you are not just drinking something warm, you might find yourself CELEBRATING!
Then, there are the lights .... Twinkling porch strands, flickering candles, and that warm orange glow from a pumpkin or two...OR TWELVE! They make everything look magical and this makes my heart H A P P Y!
And now, let's talk pumpkins and caramel apples .... the seasonal mascots that make you forget calories are real. I mean, who decided to combine fruit with sticky caramel and call it a snack? Whoever it was...I want to just squeeze them with a hug that they will never forget.
Today, I am thankful for Autumn and all it's cozy, sticky, sweet, light-filled chaos. For the simple joys ... a mug that warms your hands, a pumpkin that smiles on your porch and the reminder that gratitude is the best accessory to any season.
Of course .... most of you know that all of these things are in my dreams at this particular moment .... since it is still in the 90's around here. For us, we just have to turn the air conditioner down to about 60, and then we can snuggle up with our blankets and our cups of hot cocoa. And .... Enjoy the crackling fire that burns beautifully on our TV.
Hello Thankful Thursday .... I love you!

You make autumn or fall sound so delightful! I can smell the hot chocolate and see the flickering lights from Australia! Here we are welcoming sunshine and spring, my favourite time of year when I can enjoy the wildflowers. Enjoy your weekend ahead. I am joining you on Thankful Thursday.
ReplyDelete...in the 90s? I would melt!!! Be well and stay cold.
ReplyDeleteI hope it cools down soon for you, but it's nice to make believe.
ReplyDeleteOh Shug, these are all such happy things to enjoy in Fall. I absolutely love caramel apples. I am wondering when it's going to get cooler for you there in Texas. "Warm drinks that practically make you feel like you've achieved something important, just by holding them.".....haha that is true, isn't it? I do hope you get a Fall breeze coming in, Shug. Hang in there, it won't be long. Your "thankful thursdays" are a delight to read.

The way you word all of these special things that make it Fall, makes me think of Hallmark Moments. Its so firmly planted in our brains that the 90F temps are totally non-existent. (:0)
ReplyDeleteLove all the things you mentions as I sit here enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee before the day gets started for me.
Having our small group bible study here tonight. We are always missing someone but there will be 10 of us. This time everyone is bring their own supper and I am making brownies. We'll pretend they are all pumpkin spicey.
Continued prayers for that Man of Yours, and for you too....
Love you my friend
Sue

ReplyDeleteI sure hope you get some cooler weather sometime soon! Lol I am so with you dear Friend. Bring on all the gratitude for Fall - the best season of them all (in my opinion). I love every little thing you shared. Yes please!! I shared some Fall recipes on the blog today. Yay for cozy soup and yummy dishes season. ๐๐
ReplyDeleteMay your weather begin to reflect the real fall season instead of the last sighs of summer! I love how delicious you've made fall sound here, Shug. Know that Sam and you are in my prayers concerning next week. May the news be nothing but good. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteIt was only 36 here this morning so that cozy fall feeling is setting in here. I'll take a warm mug of comfort
ReplyDeleteAs I read this, I thought at first you were crazy! lol Then I got it when you said to put your a/c to 60. Now that makes sense. It was 82 here today. I wish it would turn 70 and stay.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to turn on the television fireplace in hot weather!
ReplyDeleteI agree - the fall drinks (with their cozy sounding names and descriptions) just make me feel fancy!! And I am such a sucker for twinkling lights. I have several throughout my house. Glad you are enjoying the seaon's special things and ideas - even with summer temperatures, for sure!!
ReplyDeleteLovely post, dear Shug. I ❤️ love Autumn ๐ Warm flannel sheets, polar fleece sweaters and jackets, hot tea, hot chocolate, beautiful colours, crisp, fresh air.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading your Thankful Thursday post and blessings. You have a wonderful way of turning 90 degree weather into autumn ๐.
ReplyDeleteWe just made chili!! Read your Sam update, sending prayers..continually...
ReplyDeleteI like to make vegetable soup in the Fall, maybe next week. Love some hot chocolate with some whipped creme on top!
ReplyDeleteLike y'all, it's still absurdly warm in Alabama. Nevertheless, I agree with each of these -- if only in my dreams. Soon!
ReplyDeleteOver here it is getting very cold already and a little damp with drizzle rather than rain. The colour of leaves are slowly changing.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you and your family, Shug. God bless.
...and I am thankful for you. Here, in central Florida, the overnight and early mornings are nice, but it warms up during the day, still in the high 80's. Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteWe have a cold front coming in Saturday night and we will be down in the 40's. I am looking forward to it! I hope you get some cooler weather soon. Thank you for linking up and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour list of blessings is spot on. It is so true that a simple warm drink suddenly feels like an accomplishment in the fall. And you are right, the person who combined fruit and sticky caramel for apples deserves a massive hug. They are the best kind of seasonal mascot.
ReplyDeleteI LOOOVE this time of year and EVERYTHING that goes along with. I don't have a fall bucket list but I DO have a TO-BOO LIST ๐ป๐ป๐ป๐ป๐งก
