A hint of Fall in the air this morning.

Oh goodness..  there is a little chill in the air this morning, and I have to say that it feels downright delightful. You know it's serious when I reached for my NEW fall pumpkin cup before the the coffee even finished brewing. Another one of my collection cups..

Nothing says "I'm ready for September" quite like sipping hot coffee out of a new pumpkin decorated mug.  I do believe that even Martha Stewart would agree...I think she would like my "Rae Dunn" cup!!

My canna plants are blooming!!

Meanwhile, my plants around the pool must have gotten the memo as well about the season changing. They are all blooming like crazy.

Loving the sweet red blooms of the turks caps!!

The Pool?  Yesterday, we gave in and put the cover on.  Not because we're ready to let Summer go, but because the acorns and leaves have been staging a takeover.  Honestly, even with "Henry" our pool cleaning robot, the leaves and acorns are just too much.  So, the cover went on!! I suppose this is our official goodby wave to summer swims.

Still, even with the cover snuggly in place, the poolside is a very cozy spot....just add a light weight blanket and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate beside my rocking chair, and the Fall mornings are perfect.

This morning, here I sit...listening to "Ivan Parker" sing "I can only Imagine" ....wrapped in my blanket and sipping hot coffee.  This is definitely a "Life is Good" morning.  And..how fun it is to watch the leaves as they gently land on the pool cover and the acorns as they bounce as if they are on a trampoline.

On this gorgeous Sunday morning, May the Lord Bless each of you with much joy and laughter...peace and comfort and love that lingers long after this day is done!!

Love to all...

Shug.💛

  7. What a sweet post, Shug. I loved it all! And your Fall cup is delightful. Jess likes the Rae Dunn collection, and so do I! Your orange flowers are so pretty, and they say "Fall is coming." Your morning outside on your rocker with your coffee wrapped in a blanket sounds like a perfect Sunday to me. That reminds me, I have to wash my Fall plaid blanket. I can just see those acorns falling and bouncing on your pool cover. ; )

  8. Your Canna flowers are gorgeous, and look just like Fall!! I did not know what they are. And your photo, it looks like a flower is growing out of your cup, so cool!! The mug is so pretty! I collect mugs, especially seasonal ones. I have so many, yet cannot resist when I see one I love. I would love to sit out by your pool in the fall!

  10. Shug, your way of writing makes me feel like I am wrapped in a cozy blanket and sipping some spiced latte with you.
It's 1:15PM and the temps are only 82F. Perfection.
Haven't got any flowers blooming but ll the greenery is really doing its thing.
When I miss a few days working outside the "weeds" have a hay day ... We just never catch up ... Played hookey from Church today and slept in. Really felt good. We have so much business to take care of tomorrow. We need clear heads and fortitude for the day. Not complaining but prayers would be appreciated.

  11. How I loved the photos of your flowers, Shug! Yes, when those leaves and acorns begin to fall, it's time to put that pool cover on. We definitely had a visit from fall here in Georgia today, too, and are looking forward to all the cooler temperatures on the way. Enjoy every moment of each day. Blessings!

  12. Love the VW bus! I owned a 71 VW camper Van and used to take it all over in my young days. We went down to Baja and always had a place to sleep. I kept it for 20 years, replaced the engine and then one day there was an engine fire. My son and I barely got out alive. Good times and good memories.

All your flowers are pretty. You are blessed with a green thumb. Too bad about closing up the pool but if leaves and debris are falling into it, that’s the practical thing to do. I won’t start decorating with pumpkins till October. I have traditionally always decorated with apples till October. It used to be that’s when we would visit apple farms, do hay rides, apple cider and pie if course. but pumpkins have really taken over. I guess apple harvests aren’t a Fall tradition anymore like it was when I was a kid.

Hope you and Sam have had an enjoyable weekend.

  13. Your morning ritual sounds positively Heavenly, Shug. Love Rae Dunn's pottery, and your mug is no exception. (hmmm....) I don't need another mug, but honestly. Can a girl have too many?
Wishing you and Sam a bright new shiny week!

  14. Sounds like a perfect kind of morning. Isn't how funny that coffee tastes way better if it's in the right mug.
