Your Smile, Business Card and Trademark

I came across this little gem of words and thought it was worth sharing!

How clever is this?  Forget fancy resumes....according to this, we are all walking around as our own little brands.  It's really pretty true!

Think about it:  Our smile really is our logo. It's the first thing people notice.. kinda like the golden arches at McDonald's (those golden arches were/are always restroom stops) or the swoosh on Nike shoes.  A smile says, "This is who I am, and yes, I'm open for business....the business of KINDNESS."

I thought about  our personality being our business card...our personality represents our business card so to speak.  How neat, that we don't have to go around handing out cards... Our personality always shows up (good or bad.)

I love glitter, so hopefully my personality spreads a little of the shiny stuff around.  And then I think about those with a  calm and steady type of personality.... Those whose calmness makes everyone breathe a little easier.  Both of these types of personalities can be a blessing to others.   Either way, our personality speaks volumes without us ever needing a business card.

And then....Let's talk about our trademarks.  Who knew we had trademarks??   The way we make people feel for instance.  This is the part that sticks.  Long after our conversations fade and our faces blur, people remember whether we made them feel valued and encouraged, OR if we leave them with a feeling of disappointment by the way we treated them. It's the  trademark we choose and live by that becomes our stamp.

There really is no need for me to ask each of you what your trademark would be....I already know!!  Each of you have a contagious JOY about you  that radiates sunshine.  Bright, genuine happiness is what I see, and kindness is definitely your trademark.  Each of you make those around you feel valued and loved.  I can see this is each of your post and your comments.

This kind of trademark touches  hearts (mine for sure) as you inspire others and you point others towards God.  When our "Life trademark" mirrors God's heart, it becomes a beautiful witness of His love.

You all know me....I think I'll try to decorate my "Trademark."  I think a few decorations will make this fun!!!

I'm gonna add a dash of glitter aka laughter.....Maybe accent it with kindness (a few rhinestones).....Layer it with Faithfulness (like a bold border)......Personalize it with gratitude (by adding Color)....

AND....don't you think everything is better with a cherry on top??  A cherry on top of a sundae sure makes everything sweeter!!

  1. So very true Shug. The joy and peace and smiles come from knowing Christ. This joy is a fruit of the Spirit, which includes love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These can be expressed in our everyday life with a smile. God’s word encourages us to rejoice always and to let our light shine before others. This light can be seen in our attitudes and actions, including the warmth and kindness we show to others, often expressed through he act of a simple smile.

  5. You absolutely hit your Trademark on the head. You, my dear , put glitter on my day all the time!
I am eagerly awaiting my "glitter" in the mail. I will make my walk out to the mailbox ... even in this 103F heat , today. We are in for a doosy of a heat wave this week and into the weekend. Not my favorite temperature for sure. Hopefully I won't melt on the way back. (:0)

  6. this is so true. I used my smile in the rehab home on all the poor sad people sitting in wheel chairs in the halls, I got so many smiles in return and several compliments on my beautiful smile. not me beautiful, all they saw was the smile, a real one, a one that said I see you... great post

  7. I just heard someone talking on the radio about smiles. He was in Israel and couldn't speak the language but he knew Shalom meant hi or hello. So he said that to people as he walked and said he got so many smiles back. He said a smile is the universal language that everyone understands! So - it's good to use it!

  10. So true my Friend! It reminds me of the other saying - that they won't remember how clean your house was, or what you served, but how you made them feel. I think of this as my motto through life too. To give others a smile. Be kind and friendly. Treat them the way I'd like to be treated. That's what another will remember about you. 💗

  11. That's a pretty neat thought. I might need to work on my business card though. I tend to have a grumpy looking resting face when I'm concentrating on something. I used to have people telling me to smile all the time

  14. That's such an interesting way of looking at personalities and character. It's rather like Charles Kingsley's 'Water Babies' with Mrs Doasyouwouldbedoneby and Mrs Bedonebyasyoudid.
Charles Kingsley was buried not far from where I live.

  16. Such wonderful words, and very special too. You mentioned the golden arches at McDonald's. I so miss driving through and getting a Big Mac haha. They closed the one up here, and we were all disappointed. The little gem of words, "your smile is your logo" seems to be true, doesn't it? I love to pass someone who has a big sweet smile. Keep throwing your glitter around, Shug. There's nothing like a little sparkle thrown our way. : )

  19. Questo post usa l’idea che il tuo sorriso sia come il tuo logo, la tua personalità il tuo biglietto da visita e il modo in cui fai sentire gli altri il tuo ‘marchio’ per incoraggiare gentilezza e branding personale.
