I've been missing in action. My calendar for the month of August is almost full. I have a comprehensive list of tasks that needs to be completed this month.
* This week, I've been finishing some faux flower arrangements for the upcoming wedding shower celebrating Trey and Savannah. We are putting together an arch background for the event and it will have flowers flowing down the top portion of one side. I can now put a check mark ✔ beside this item on my list.
* I've also made all of the table arrangements which will hopefully add a depth of beauty to the shower. ✔ Another check mark!! Yay!!
The biggest item on my "To do" List is.......
* Sorting through my in-laws home and throwing away items that need to be discarded. We are getting ready to have an Estate Sell and I have to get this done before the Estate Company comes in and sets everything up. I worked over there a good portion of the day yesterday and I made great accomplishments. This might take me another week to complete...
* I am fully engaged in doing a lot of paper work that needs to be completed within the next few weeks.
* We have at least 4 nights to spend in Dallas during the next two weeks. More Doctor appointments and testing!! More on this in the sidebar.
* A few Birthday parties and more wedding events will round out the month of August!! 🎈🎂🎁
Hey....this keeps me busy and I really don't mind ....

Now for my title story: REPEAT
After a very busy day yesterday, Sam and I stopped in at our local Pizza Hut! (This is the 4th week for this new restaurant to be open)
We were both so tired and just wanted to grab a quick pizza dinner. Are you understanding what repeat stands for? I kid you not, we waited on our pizza for over an hour and a half. After about an hour of waiting, I went up to the counter to find out why it was taking so long to make a "Small BBQ and Chicken" pizza. As they glanced through the orders, they could not find our order as ever being turned in!!!!!! What??? Not again...especially after our long wait on Saturday night at Cracker Barrel. Sure enough, the waitress never turned in our order. They quickly put the order in and after another 30 minutes we were able to eat. "Are you kidding me" these were the only words that Sam and I could come up with.
Just so happens that it was buy one pizza get a second one for $5.00 night. They ended up comping our drinks, the two pizza's and the cinnamon sticks that we had ordered. For which they should have!! I will tell you, Sam was not quite as calm this time!! He pleasantly let them know that he was not pleased with the service.
I mean, how many times can this happen to the same folks in a matter of days?
REPEAT
"We dined out twice, what a treat, But the second night ended in REPEAT.
We went out to eat on a Saturday night,
Hoping for a simple delicious bite.
But service was sloooow, like a snail on retreat,
We swore we'd not ever repeat this awful defeat.
Then Monday rolled in with like a hungry parade,
A different cafe, "good choice" we had made.
But wouldn't you know, like a mischievous feat,
Very long waits, mean repeat, repeat, repeat!!!
I've missed you all....
Shug....
I know the shower will be gorgeous with you decorating it! Amazing about your twice in a row wait! I continue to pray for Sam. It is a good thing to have a heart cath, Phil had one a few years ago. Let us know all the test results!!
ReplyDeleteYou sure have been busy! The decorations are going to be so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the Pizza Hut. I can't believe that happened again.
I appreciate your sidebar updates. Continued prayers for Sam.
Shug, I'm so sorry this happened to you again when you went out to eat. This is not acceptable service by any means. I hope all goes well with Sam's appts. in the weeks ahead. I am whispering a prayer for him right now. I wish I could be there for your in-law's estate sale coming up. I love estate sales and yard sales. The flower arrangements you made are very nice. You did a great job on them. Take care, Shug.

Hi dear Shug, I am so sorry you had this experience! It is good to let them know that you were not pleased with the service and it is good that Sam did. I am continuing prayers for Sam. It's great that you have been busy and that you are okay with this. It is good to be busy and productive, so long as we don't let it affect our mental and physical health in a negative way.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog background and how you change it, this one is so bright and sunny...just like you, dear friend.
Thank you so much for sharing.
You have been a busy gal. Two times for such a long wait - I'm sorry - but you did get a little compt. I am glad you and Sam have such a sweet life together and can do so many thing together. I am praying the tumor is gone as well.
ReplyDeleteI know your decorations are going to be gorgeous - I have no doubt!
Comping your meal is the least they could do. I’m glad they at least did that. You have to wonder how long will they be able to stay in business with that type of service. It is kinda funny that it happened yet again. You know, they say there’s a charm so I’d be careful going out for… a week or do. That should do it! 😀
ReplyDeleteLove your poem. Sooooo talented. Love all the flowers 🌺 I’m glad you’re enjoying all the activity for this month plus it will make the time go by fast for all the results you’ve been waiting on and it keeps your mind occupied. Enjoy.
Grr spell check - it’s supposed to read three’s a charm”
DeleteYou have been busy. Yes Gene had to have two heart caths when he was on the transplant list. The second time he needed a stent and that took him off of the transplant list because once you have a stent you have to be on blood thinners for at least 6 months...and by that time he reached the age limit for a transplant. They have all the boxes that you have to check with lots of xrays and procedures. I hope you have a transplant coordinator and if you do check out the support group that they should connect you with.
ReplyDeleteI hope it all goes well!
