Good morning....here I am again, posting a little late! I had an early morning appointment to get my 6 month cholesterol shot. Back home now!!
Early this morning, Sam and I slipped outside with our coffee in hand, and to our surprise, the air had a gentle coolness to it!! After us having several weeks of heat, the morning coolness felt like a gift all on it's own. We both just settled in our chairs and let the stillness of the early morning wrap around us.
The hummingbirds have shown back up and they were busy putting on their own show. They were darting back and forth, sipping on my Turks caps flowers and the bright yellow Esperanza blooms. We both enjoyed their wings humming and it sounded like teeny tiny violins keeping rhythm with the morning. So very sweet!! Hoping they will hang around for a few more weeks before heading out on their journey.
It was one of those moments where you don't even have to have a conversation. Sam and I both just sat quietly as we soaked up the calmness of the morning. Did I say how much I loved this??? I really did!
Turks caps!!
I was so enjoying taking in all the beauty with the one I love....as we sat outside watching the world wake up. Why don't I wake up earlier every morning to enjoy nature?
I walked back inside a little later feeling lighter...no stress, no worries, no heaviness in my shoulders. I was so thankful for the beauty of all the blooms and for the dancing hummingbirds (that decided to make a return to our yard.)
"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Isaiah 26:3
May we all take a little time to pause, breathe, and notice the Blessings of the early morning hours.
Shug...💛
Hello Friend, morning is my favorite time to take a stroll in the garden. We have hummingbirds too. I named one pip squeak. ;-) He is a feisty one, he will buzz Ernie.
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a beautiful early morning...even the smell of freshness is in the air and this is so neat.
DeleteBeautiful ❤️ photos. Thank God 😊 🙏 for a relief from the wildfires 🔥 and intense heat 🥵 and humidity. Here in Montreal it is supposed to be like this for the entire week. It's wonderful to have more than one or two days of comfortable weather.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda. you are so right and hopefully we will have a few days of the cooler weather beginning tomorrow.
DeleteReading this just made me take a deep breath and breathe in God's goodness for the day too.
ReplyDeleteOur manzanita tree outside my "office" window is starting to get a few blossoms on it and I spied our first hummer this morning too. I love to watch them flit around.
I am looking forward to going to the mailbox this afternoon. I'm sure the gift will be there... I can't wait !!!
Sue
I hope you will post pictures when the manzanita tree blooms...not sure I have ever seen one... Lots of goodness in this day..
DeleteWhat a beautiful way to start the day! Even I can sit for hours watching birds and trees. Lovely shots! Happy Week! :)
ReplyDeletesuch special times to take in nature to the fullest
Delete😊❤️ Love and a gazillion hugs.
ReplyDeleteso sweet....thank you so much....back at ya..
DeleteSeeing God in nature is such a blessing - flowers, birds, cool breezes. A perfect way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mari...I'm excited for the cooler days ahead.
DeleteOh Shug, what a lovely post. I love hummingbirds, too. I never thought of their sound as teeny violins but I LOVE that thought! I am so glad you and your "forever love" had that time together today. Have a beautiful week ahead. Susan
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice Susan...it's special times like this that are so precious
DeleteOh so peaceful and calm...loved this. A wonderful way to start the day. Yes, our hummingbirds are still here, but I expect they will start leaving after Labor Day. that seems to be the norm for them. They are such fun to watch. I always look forward to their return.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Pam...they are so tiny and their flutter is so fast. Maybe this is what draws us to them.
DeleteWhat a lovely start to the day. A cool breeze, coffee and humming birds. We don't have humming birds in the UK; but I do have a humming mother-in-law. She buzzes around every where humming to herself like a mosquito.
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Shug.
Oh Victor....I bet she is the cutest as she hums...
DeleteI love your blue polka dot background! This post makes me think of the bible verse about...Be still and know that I am God. And God put the hummers and flowers here just for US!! I'm glad you posted the Turk's Caps, I have never seen any! All your flowers are so beautiful. You must be a pollinator's dream!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved flowers of all kinds. My mother had a green thumb and I guess I maybe got it from her.
DeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is the way we should always live.
Amen Sandi...
DeleteI am glad for the reminder to slow down and enjoy each other. We tend to go to fast here sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI always look for things to be grateful for though. God is so good to us. If we can't find anything to be grateful for - something is wrong.
We're also getting a taste of early autumn, which is SO refreshing.
ReplyDeleteYou and Sam are a wonderful pair. Love that about you guys. PS: Cold here today. We were freezing most of the morning. That's okay, it's that good autumn cold. LOVE IT.
ReplyDeleteThe blessing of cool mornings spent simply enjoying God's beautiful creation are the best, Shug. We had a cool morning here, too, and expecting another one tomorrow. Fall has come early hear in the South. Blessings always!
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet little hummingbirds so much! They're also my visitors when a loved one passes - kind of like some folks see cardinals. So happy to hear that you're getting cooler moments too. I so relate as I love time out on the deck in the morning...listening to birdsong and looking at the water. It's healing. :) Blessings to you xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou are a wise woman!
ReplyDeleteMornings are just the loveliest!! So glad you enjoyed a wonderful morning today:) Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteYou've described the best part of the day so wonderfully, Shug. I almost expected to hear soft music in the background; perhaps the sound of birds. I'm going to make an appointment with the "thinking bench" out front someday soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy when I have time to stop and find joy in the ordinary. Happy you had a beautiful start to your day!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like the perfect start to a morning. Nice way to set the mood for the day
ReplyDeleteSince retirement, I find the mornings to be wonderful. The perfect time to be outside appreciating everything!
ReplyDeleteSitting with my hubby and not needing to talk to enjoy each other's company . . . Oh, I miss that. Those special still times when as long as you were together, at was all that mattered. I have wonderful friends, but when we're together there is always someone talking . . . We women love to talk. Life is short enjoy those special moments. God bless you and have a lovely week. 🥰
ReplyDeleteSounds like a calm morning!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely image you painted with your words.
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief it must have been to have a cool start when you've had such sweltering temperatures.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you and Sam had this time to just sit and enjoy God's creation around you together. What a gift!
ReplyDeleteOur hummingbirds are still coming to the feeders, but they will soon be heading South...probably in about a couple of weeks.
Prayers continue for you and for Sam. xx
We have been loving our time with the hummingbirds!! They are such beautiful and interesting creatures. Your flowers are gorgeous.
