Be the energy you want to attract!!!
I get all excited when these crazy thoughts pop into my mind.....I often wonder where they come from.
Energy? Not the kind that comes from caffeine or a full nights sleep, but...I will be the first to admit that I respect both of these sources of energy! That cup of coffee in the morning is important isn't it?
The kind of energy that I'm talking about is the atmosphere we create when we walk into a room full of friends, co-workers, or even our own family members. Funny thing, we each carry a unique vibe that speaks before we even say a word. Some of us bring a sense of calmness while others create a spark of excitement, and in my family there are a few whose spark is abundant!! I sure love them all though!! lol. 😎 And then....some of us try to enter the room without being seen at all as we try to sneak off into the nearest corner.
When entering a room, do you........
💡 enter the room with a big smile ready to start conversations?
💡 Do you bring laughter mixed with a few jokes?
💡 Do you bring that spark that ignites the entire room?
OR.....do you enter a room like:
😔 like a walking rain cloud?
😠 always with a frowny face?
😏 like an emotional vacuum cleaner that sucks all the joy out of the room?
I feel like I have represented each of these auras at one time or another. My question is.....which of these represents your level of energy in general?
Here's the secret to all of this.....
Energy is Contagious!!!!!
The simple truth is....What we give out, we tend to get back.
If I want more laughter in my life, I need to try to be a bit more fun myself.
If I want kindness, I need to hand it out like it's on clearance, and who doesn't love a good sell?
If I want peace, then I need to avoid all chaos and look for the areas in the room that are better lit up.
I have experienced fake energy being given off from acquaintances, but I think our intentional way of choosing to be a light in a room is all about what is truly in our hearts.
Our world has enough crankiness, and not near enough cupcakes!! (I prefer the cupcakes with lots of icing)
Our joy, our warmth, our presence, our excitement, our kindness is what the world needs more of. I hope that I can be the kind of person where my energy lifts the spirits of others. I hope I bring sunshine to a world that has forgotten what a simple "light switch" can deliver to any room. I want to try to be the "you got this" in someone's heavy day!!
And this topic my friends just popped into my mind yesterday as I was visiting my neighbor across the street. She may be 86, but she has enough energy to bring light to our entire town.
Energy is always welcomed isn't it?
Shug...💫
Shug, I am so thankful for this post that popped into your head yesterday as you visited your neighbor. My goodness, what a joy to read here and observe your spark! I always leave your space feeling better than when I arrived.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the recent update on Sam. I'm sorry he has to go through the heart cath, but if it's part of what needs done to get him on the liver transplant list, I pray it goes well.
And your positive energy, Shug, shines through your words! Yes, let's be the ones who charge up others with energy and love. Praying for good news for Sam. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteAww, you are our little “Spark Shug!” ⚡️ I just smile all through your post. You have such a gift of positivity in a negative world. I feel excited just reading this post.
ReplyDeleteI think the key (at least for me) is to focus on my identity in Christ and the completeness I have in Him and where I’m not defined by my past actions or struggles, (Thank God) but by the new creation I now am, through faith. As an introvert if it wasn’t for the Holy Spirit giving me His spark, and His energy, I’d be real party- pooper! It seems I lost the spark I once enjoyed after my son died. The good news is God is continually at work with me, shaping and molding me to reflect His character more fully and hopefully others will see it.
I honestly wish I was more like you. I’m too quiet, too boring, too much of an introvert and I’m set in my ways! 🤔
Blessings and 🙏🏻🙏🏻 always
This is so good, Shug! And Paul tells us to continually lift others UP!!! I always enter a room with a big smile. But I have to say at my age and health, I think I may not have that spark! It is more like a tiny ember now! I never say anything to bring anyone down or negative, at least that is my goal!!! My personality is just to be quiet and blend in, but I do fight that to be much more outgoing. We are Deacons at church, so that has helped me in relating with others as well.
ReplyDeleteSo good! I know people from both types and strive to be the person who brings joy. As a Christian, it's the testimony we want to project.
ReplyDeleteI know that you are a joy bringer!
Love this so much and couldn't agree more, dear Shug! Matt always teases me because people approach and talk to me all the time when we're out and about. He said I give off such a happy approachable energy. I sure hope so! I don't even feel like I think about it - I think it's just who I am...as both of my parents were too. Very positive lights in this world and I"m SO grateful for that. And I agree with Mari....as a Christian, I think a lot of it is because He is the light I want others to see in me too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings on your weekend ahead my Friend. xo
"The simple truth is....What we give out, we tend to get back." Thanks for this timely reminder.
ReplyDeleteI do try to be the "light" and my shyness can keep me subdued at times. We are having company tonight. They are our small group that has been meeting for about 14 years. Lots of spark and sunshine most of the time, even when our hearts are heavy we try to uplift each other.
ReplyDeleteGreat post today and I keep forgetting to say how much I like your background and banner. Now, that's sunshine.

Yes! And it doesn’t have to be sparkling. It can also be a quiet presence. I’ve spent 10 to 12 hours the past couple of days dealing with a problem that “shouldn’t have happened.” No sense going there. My great accomplishment was to be cheerful and. patient with the people I was dealing with.
You are a shining light, dear Shug. Thank 😊 you for sharing this beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely go anyplace, I do try to smile at people in the grocery store:)
ReplyDeleteI imagine that you enter the room with a big smile ready to start conversations!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I do that, but I don't think I come in with a frown! lol
I love your posts. They are always inspiring and upbeat. You definitely bring a spark to the blogosphere.
ReplyDeleteOh Shug, I so totally agree with you. I have been told I have that kind of energy, I love to laugh, and I feel one of the spiritual gifts God has given me is to encourage people, and you are so gifted in that area. One cannot visit your blog without leaving better than they came. You have take a frown and turned it into a smile and a tear into a spark joy. Seeing the great example you are in the midst of many trials and difficulties makes us all better!!! Love you so much and what you mean to all us blogger friends. Hugs
ReplyDeleteOne's energy can be so contagious. Viral!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your inspiration and positivity in book form someday!
I love your neighbor already!
ReplyDeleteOh Shug. You definitely bring light! Yes, you are a light in the darkness. I try to always smile. I'm very cognizant of not wanting to be crabby or negative. There's enough of both of those in the world already. I don't need to add more! Thanks for a sweet post! Hugs. Susan
ReplyDeleteDo as you would be done by. I imagine a lot of light around you, Shug.
ReplyDeleteHa, thanks, I needed this. Thank you for the lovely reminder(s)---I work in a prison, and it definitely can mentally and spiritually drain you. And it's been the latter, I am afraid. sigh.
ReplyDeleteWell, I've always been outgoing, so I probably enter a room full of loved ones with sparkles! When going out in public and around people I don't know, I tend to be a bit guarded, so not the same energy. But I always try to help people, and I have a heart as big as the ocean, so people know that about me. You are a light to so many people, Shug. I'm thankful for you here in blog land. : )
