A little Bit of everything.

Some days don't follow a plan and today is one of those days.  My post is just made up of moments that have tumbled together in my mind, and hopefully this will make for an unexpected nice Tuesday post.

First off, I'll show you a picture of my Birthday Dinner. Let me just say that when the food is this good, calories don't count!!  This is a wonderful place that serves the best Italian food....I was totally full after dipping the warm bread into the bowl of olive oil, garlic, and Italian seasonings.

Then there is my Pear Relish project!!

I started chopping, stirring and mixing yesterday and now my kitchen smells like September!!

Today, I will load those jars with the sweetest tasting relish, seal the jars and give them a good water bath.  It takes time to make this relish but it is so worth it... Just a tablespoon on top of fresh peas or pinto beans makes them taste like pure country sunshine on a plate.

Now, for a good laugh and a sweet invitation!!  I saw this picture on Facebook of goats riding in an old truck.  The caption "Get in, we're going for coffee."   So here is your invite to come on and join me and the goats...they looked like they were having a great time and I know we all would have a lot of fun as well.

Of course, I would have to borrow an old truck, but I'm sure we could all fit. Don't worry...my drivers license are good for at least one more year!!

Got to show y'all something that is more than beautiful....things can be more than beautiful can't they?  A gift captured by a dear friend... What comes to my mind is:  ...a fiery horizon where the golden light has melted into the waves...

One more thing for today!! I found myself some new frog shoes!! You read this right...Shoes that look like frogs!  Please don't be jealous... I will even let anyone that wants to, borrow them!!   Life is way too short to wear boring footwear isn't it?

              Just kidding!! 😉

Birthday dinners, pear relish, goat coffee runs, sunsets and frog shoes...I hope your day will be filled with little surprises like these...

It's a fun day to have fun!

  12. I can positively feel your joy radiating through my monitor. And what a pity Blogger hasn't yet invented scratch and sniff technology. I never thought about September having its own aroma. I hope you and the goats keep an eye peeled along the way ... I'll be standing on the corner of Coosa and Main with my thumb out!

  13. Those shoes are just fantastic. I wonder if they make the same for men. I'd love shoes like this. Can you imagine, going to a meeting at work wearing those shoes? They'd never take me seriously again ... they never did.

This post today has cheered me up. Thank you Shug. Also ... I liked the bread olive oil and garlic. We'll have to make some tomorrow with origano and other herbs (don't know their names but they're in the cupboard). We keep all our herbs in alphabetical order. People have asked: What a laborious task, where do you find the time? I said it's next to the sage and parsley!

    God bless.

  14. It's good to have a plan, but it's smart to know when to throw the plan away and go with the flow.

  15. Seventeen years ago, before relocating up here, I fondly recall a charming Italian restaurant in Palo Alto, just a stone's throw from Stanford. This unique gem had an entrance that led directly through the bustling kitchen, immersing you in the rich aromas of garlic, herbs, and simmering sauces before you even reached the dining room. The ambiance felt straight out of a classic mob film, a lively gathering spot for students and locals alike, along University Avenue. One of the delightful quirks of the place was how they served their mouthwatering pizzas and hearty platters atop sizable, rustic cans of tomatoes—an ingenious touch that added to its vibrant character. It was a truly happening place, where every meal felt like a celebration.

If you can genuinely pull off those frog shoes, I admire your boldness! In my younger days, I had an impressive collection of shoes—so many that it was almost a hobby. My focus has shifted to comfort-first options. I love several pairs of boots that I enjoy.

I've never come across pear relish before, but it sounds delicious! I mean, it has pears in it! How could it not be amazing?

    Take Care -

  16. If those frog shoes had a much lower heel, I would be tempted to buy them just to wear occasionally for kicks and giggles.
The photo of the clouds and water reflecting the clouds is breathtaking
